Xbox Velocity Architecture?

I am very curious about the frame rate in battlefield 2042 on Xbox series consoles. Is dice just making a game that is generalized for all platforms to run at maximum raw power? Or have they implemented velocity architecture (Xbox only version) into the game already?

The reason I ask this is cause I feel it should be very easy to achieve 120 fps on series x if you are properly using velocity. But maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.

As there are Old-gen and New-gen Console versions of the game, there will be way better quality and probably higher frame rate supported and implemented for the New-gen version of the game.

  • @dirtytamato It is likely EA DICE have considered the Velocity Architecture during their development of Battlefield 2042.

Personally, I would bet that EA DICE have a better performing, more stable game on the XBox than the Playstation 5 due to their closer partnership during development. I think this is reinforced by the fact that the Playstaion 5 playtest was completely shelved.

What's more, I would also expect that Battlefield 2042 can absolutely run higher than 60hz across all next-gen consoles, but that there may still be some issues with the Playstation 5 or another console that prevents EA DICE from pushing it out...

Again, all the above is speculation on my part, but I think it is possible and reasonable. We shall see!
  • @dirtytamato Well right now on series x/s we will be at 60 fps for right know, but when they get that handled i think that the x would support it, i got the s and it ran good just the beta bugs where present.
  • They are running the game at 60FPS to keep peak performance at console and PC to allow crossplay and holding a 128 player server with minimum latency issues. There is no current scope to run the game at 120fps, which is understandable as i would choose performance over visual aspects.

  • Unless the dream you're talking about was infact a nightmare or you just have very low standards for stability then no
