Re: BF1 for PC Doesn't Start After EA anticheat Update

INFO - Post Marked as Solution for Visibility

Hi everyone,

To add to what @EA_Pulsar mentioned earlier (quoted below for easy reference, please click on "Spoiler"):

It seems that these problems can be caused by various factors, so I wanted to share a few steps that might help.

- Make sure your Windows is up to date. You can follow the steps outlined on the official Microsoft website

- If you still use Windows 7, please note that the game and EA AntiCheat won’t work on that system, and you need to update.

-  Please delete the "cryptbase.dll." file

- Some players resolved this by changing the compatibility mode. Check out the guide on making older apps compatible with Windows.

- Please check the recommendations from our anticheat team. You can try the steps outlined in these posts: [Post #16] and [Post #17]

- Ensure you run the game, BF1.exe, and EAAntiCheatLauncher.exe as an administrator.

- add the game and EAAntiCheatLauncher.exe to exceptions list of your antivirus program and firewall

If you have any other solutions, please let us know!

When reporting issues with Battlefield 1 following the EA anticheat patch, please be as detailed as possible in your description. Posts that simply state "game doesn't work, please fix" aren’t helpful and tend to clutter the thread or forum. To assist us or the community in troubleshooting effectively, please include the following information when reporting any game launch issues on your system:

  • Windows Version: What version of Windows are you using?

  • Error Messages: Do you receive any error messages? If so, please specify the error and, if possible, include a screenshot.

  • Third-Party Software: Do you have any third-party antivirus, anti-malware, VPN, or alternative firewall software installed on your system or network? If yes, please either add the game and it's processes, including EA anticheat, to the exclusions of these software suites, or uninstall them.

  • Mod Tools: Have you installed or used any mod tools (e.g., Frosty Tools) with Battlefield 1? If yes, uninstall this. (Note: Using mod tools may violate our Terms of Service)

  • DxDiag Report: Finally, and most importantly, please attach a DxDiag report of your system. Here’s how to generate and share this document (it doesn’t contain any personal information).

Thank you.

@ProfessorBoreasStart by disabling/exiting all Startup Apps. Mouse, Monitor, Antivirus, etc

You should not see them in the system tray or they are still active
(Only app I left running was the nVidia App)

I did this on two different PCs each with its own EA account.
Both PCs are running BF1 now.

  • The error says : Invalid license. Reason code = missing DLL: amd_ags_x64.dll Function: agsGetCrossFireGpuCount.

I've tried reinstalling the game and still gives this DAMN error.

The game is also stuttering and freezing because of the anti cheat, why isn't this being mentioned or being pinned?
