An interesting thing to note is that Criterion is also working on battlefield 2042, and they are also the ones who overhauled battlefront 2 air combat (which was much better than the first game), so hopefully we'll get to see them doing their magic. A new flight system different from previous battlefield games would be welcome.

If not, and if we're going back to how planes flew in older games, I definitely would prefer to BF3/4 flight system over BF1/5 any day, at least BF3/BF4 flight was fun enough for people to focus on solely mastering jet dogfighting and form communities around just purely jet dogfighting, dogfighting had surprisingly more depth once you figured out the basics (basics like speed control).

But for example in battlefield V people mostly just hit the brakes and hope that the enemy jet will overshoot them when they're getting chased as trying anything else will just get you killed regardless of skill level, it gets boring after a while.

An ideal system for jets would be one that is easy to learn but hard to master. BF1/Bf5 did the former, BF3/BF4 the latter, we just need one that does both 🙂
