Re: [FIX RELEASED] BFV PC - Issues After EA anticheat Update of April 3, 2024

Hey everyone, hopefully someone can help me, I play Battlefield V on pc for a few years now, without any general issues. A few days ago, about November 16.24, by starting the game a new anti-cheat update/fix downloaded, and after that my game constantly freezes and laggs every 1-2 minutes for a few seconds. Even in the main menu. I "repaired" the files via the  EA launcher, i reinstalled the anti cheat, reinstalled the whole game (twice) without any success. I tried lowering all the graphics to the bottom, and followed like every other "how to reduce lag" tutorials.

I found a recent Reddit post with a video...

...showing the same problem, so it seems to be more or less a general things for some players.

In my opinion it has something to do with the anti cheat update. Could this be?

My specs are (and i know its kinda old, but BF worked fine 4 days ago)

Processor

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7500 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3408 MHz, 4 Kern(e), 4 logische(r) Prozessor(en)

BaseBoard

MSI Produkt B250M PRO-VDH (MS-7A70)

Graphic card

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I've got the same issue: frame drops straight out of hell. Playing BF5 (and BF1) is almost impossible this way.

This is after the anti-cheat update. All software is up-to-date.

    Same problem here.

It's even worse for my squad mate who has an older system.

These last days, the game suddenly became unplayable for him (he had no such problems for many years before).

We tried BFV and BF1 and the problem is present in both games, both protected by EA anti-cheat, reinforcing your suspicion.

Observing my CPU utilization graph, i noticed a regular big CPU utilization spike (every few minutes for a few seconds, like you mentioned)

Some machines seem to be able to brute force their way past the problem, that's probably why it won't be universally noticed, but it definitely seems to be widespread.

I hope it can be fixed soon, it's a huge performance regression, and it's ruining the game for many players (who had no issues before)

(I have a ryzen 7600 and my squad mate has an i5 6400)

EDIT : I forgot to add that we also tested other (non EA) games and concluded this performance issue was specific to BFV and BF1 (we don't have 2042 so we couldn't test it)

Same issue with BF1 . its the anticheat using too much cpu and memory . I doubt we will see an official fix . Typical EA actions really .

@Ironlakian86 Really my friend, considering that support for BF1, BFV has been gone for a while. Now, it's unlikely they'll fix this.

Same thing happening to both rigs of mine with both BF1 and BFV, FPS are fine, but I have up to 2-3secs video freeze with sound playing as normal, with CPU spikes from EA Anticheat. Both pc's with nvme drives.

    Specs PC1: Xeon 2697v3 - RTX 3070 - 128GB DDR4

    PC2: Ryzen 5900X - 3080Ti - 64GB DDR4

I was inclined to believe that cause the xeon is an old cpu, there is an incompatibility with the new anti cheat, but this happening on AM4 cpus as well is unacceptable. Please fix.

Mine is doing this exact same thing. At first I thought maybe it was because I recently updated my drivers but rolling back didn't help. It never happened before the Anti-Cheat update and I have a pretty good PC. It almost always sits at 144 fps on Ultra settings (I have frame limiter turned on).
