Re: Please add Gyro Aiming!

XIM MATRIX has just been revealed and it supports Gyro aim using PlayStation controllers in all games. You can even use PlayStation controller Gyro aim in Xbox games!

XIM MATRIX also supports Nintendo gyro controllers too, but XIM NEXUS still offers the highest precision Gyro aim possible.

@OskooI_007 That's not an option for PlayStation 5 unless you use XIM via Remote Play app ... which then is pointless due to latency and input lag.

@BirkelandPSN Remote play is only used to send controller input to PS5 over local LAN Ethernet. You still plug the PS5 directly into the TV using HDMI cable so there isn't any controller lag or screen lag.

i have no clue what Gyro aim actually does but if i understood this right so far you get the benefits of controller inputs (Aim-assist, Snap Aim Assist, 25% recoil reduction) and teh precision of simulated mouse and keyboard?

No.  Gyro Aim is utilizing the motion controls in controllers to give "mouse-like" aim and does not utilize Aim Assist because of that.  Most games will shut off any form of AA if you turn the Gyro Aim setting on (like Fortnite) because of the fact it mimicks a mouse and is no longer necessary.  And know that the amount of physical movement you make with the controller is about the same, if not much more than using a mouse.  Its mostly very minor tilts with the controller.  No waving it around.  And the Right Thumbstick only handles the recentering of your screen (or hipfire depending on how some people decide to utilize the Gyro Aim).  Because of this, you can crank the sensitivity way up to respond faster around your character.  "Flick Stick" is actually the epitome of this and is my preferred method (shown in the video below).

Here is a good explanation and visual of it:

Here are a couple of videos of when I used it on MWII recently on the PS5:

A major perk to Gyro Aim as well is the fact that because youre no longer using the Right Thumbstick to aim, your right thumb gets freed up so in most cases you learn to hover over the action buttons like jumping and crouching.  So its very easy to aim and jump like Keyboard and Mouse.  Plus, youre still getting the benefits of having access to a joystick for moving around (typically more precise than WASD) and is usually the preferred method when flying or driving vehicles.

  • @OskooI_007 I've tried the controller on PS5 at my friends house since he has one, and there is 100% input lag on PS5. It's actually very sus that you're saying there isn't... are you just trying to market the controller?

@BirkelandPSN haha I thought the same thing when I read his original comment with the vid a out the controller.  I though it was an ad.

But I also dont care for some of those 3rd party controllers because they have software that can negate recoil and other stats, which is just another form of cheating.  Thus why some devs will ban accounts caught using some of these.

  • @BgobbleD Yeah, I agree. They try to market things like that as an accessibility feature for people with disabilities, which in theory is really good, but in reality the features are being used by normal people to gain a competitive advantage.
  • @OskooI_007 I'm not invested in the product enough to know the difference between the different models. All I know is that it's not officially licensed and probably just as bad as the model that I did try.

@BirkelandPSN @OskooI_007 In the end, Gyro Aim should just natively be implemented without the necessity of an overpriced 3rd party controller imo.  Would be nice if devs start taking advantage of the features given to them that can improve gaming.  Gyro Aim is fairly significant on this front for controller players.

And also, MS has recently filed a patent for new controller features (touch pad and haptic feedbacks like the DualSense) with rumor its being prototyped inhouse.  So hopefully this pushes for more standardized implementations from devs.  Cuz I actually love the touchpad on the DualShock and DualSense but its either under or poorly utilized.  Yet it makes an exceptional second D-Pad system for 4 plus actions to map.  I use it a ton in games for non-combat related buttons that can offer shortcuts without going through menus and whatnot.

  • MW2 further improving Gyro Aim settings quite a bit along with adding Flick Stick in their Season 2 patch (https://imgur.com/gallery/TjPAAS2).

BF is much more my preferred game so would love to get back going full swing into this franchise once this were added.  Again, the playerbase is strongly there and growing that utilize this method.  Especially when you consider how many games in the past year alone have added Gyro Aim for PS4/5.    And a lot of us have grown so accustomed to this mechanic, going back to stick aiming is nearly a no-go for a lot of us because of how much slower and clunky it is

Many more games on Nintendo and PC have natively added it as well.  Actually, Nintendo almost requires it at this point for their shooters seeing how 9 out 10 will now have Gyro Aim.  Splatton 2 did an amazing job popularizing it--devs stated that over 70% of the player base stuck with Gyro Aim a year after its release.

Xim matrix uses remote play but it strips out the audio and video signals to reduce lag.

If you know what a beloadrt pro do gle is, it uses the same method.

The other disadvantage is that tjis device can only trsnslate the rightstick to gyro value's. Wich will also use the ingame cuve and has aim assist and deadzones.

If done right then the gyro value's should be trsnslatrd to mouse value's. This vetsion of gyro is similar to the joystick mousr option in steam input.
