its an under barrel attachment you have to add it to your plus menu. The default key is X to toggle into it.  I originally tried using the mater key but it was very bad so I switched to the grenade launcher trying to cover all vehicle destruction possible.

You tap lower dpad without aiming. This also toggles flashlights and laser sights if you have those instead.

i think underbarrel grenades have a damage bug too. they kill an enemy only with a direct hit, and do almost no damage to vehicles...
