Maybe the Dice staff who's obviously play on PC is afraid of getting shot by a console-player? I hope they fix this sooner than their usual"soon".
I play on PC with my old XBOX 360 inspired Games For Windows controller and there is all kinds of aim assist in this game. What more do you want the aim assist to do?
- @xXHappy_PuppyXx There's aim assist. It just isn't COD strenght aim-assist but it IS definitely there
Nope, no. The aim-asist is non-existent on console in BF 2042. @EA_Darko we need aim assist in the game.
- xXHappy_PuppyXx4 years agoRising Ace@BizzyVaping No there is not, not even bf 5,4, 3, 1 levels of aim assit as it's not there at all
- xXHappy_PuppyXx4 years agoRising Ace@Skill4Reel No there is not, think some of you dont know what aim assit is.
Well i did ask if you would explain what more you wanted from the aim assist. With the current aim assist i can aim my weapon where I want to without feeling as if the game is removing my input and doing it for me. To me that is good aim assist.
- @xXHappy_PuppyXx I didn't think so either at first, but I have been in a few situations since where I could clearly feel the reticle slow down as it passed over an enemy
- @PremiumDamian There's aim assist on both my PS5 version and PC version when I hook up a controller.
and we only want a console only toggle or just a built-in toggle to shut the da mn cross play off conveniently
- @Skill4Reel There's no aim assist. You are incorrect or maybe since PC and XBOX suck so bad they get aim assist and us pros with Playstation don't get it. That's because we don't need it. LOL
- @BizzyVaping Exactly, these kids dont want aim assist, they want aimbot haha.
Consoles don't need AA! They need mouse and keyboard support.
AA just ruins everything as you can see with Apex right now, either it's too weak or it's ridiculously strong.
I see some Pc-players respond to that there is no aim-assist on console. Maybe it exists on pc but at least on my Xbox series X there is no detectable aim-assist. It doesn't stick at all. If there was some reasonable level of aim-assist I would turn on crossplay, but as it is now NO!
If they are ever to allow M&K support on consoles, then using them should restrict users to having cross-play on.
The danger is people turning off cross-play and playing exclusively with console players. M&K is just hands down superior to controller.
Having no aim-assist for controllers is maybe fine in the level playing field of cross-play off. However, for cross-play on, aim assist is needed to try and balance out against M&K users.
Very, very few people can claim they are as good with a controller as they are a M&K, and I would personally argue that in those examples if the individual put more time into M&K they would quickly realise they can do even better.
Obviously the above applies to being on foot. When it comes to flying a helicopter or a jet, things change somewhat.

@Rabhimself1986It is funny the complaining about been at a disadvantage to pc players yet have quite happily in the past used xim etc to use mouse and keyboard against controller users.
Not saying you have but there have been alot of threads past 2 bf games about it.
People have different opinions on it clearly, but I think the majority believe the M&K definitely offers a significant advantage.
If you look at Rainbow Six Siege, for example, there is zero aim assist on that game for consoles by design. The developers actually consider it cheating if you use M&K on console because the advantage is recognised to be so strong.
It isn't even just aiming where the advantage lies, it's general movement and other interactions.
If any controller user is comfortable facing off M&K users then that is on them, power to them. However, if the default set-up on a system is for a controller, I personally don't agree with just allowing M&K implementation. As I suggest, if this is to happen on consoles then the M&K input should remove the option to disable cross-play. They should be forced to play with PC users (and console players comfortable with cross-play).

It real easy to test if you aim at a distant enemy and another one that's much closer runs through your aim point you should see the aim assit pull your sight to the closer target. Even if it's very mild aim assit you will see it pull to the closer target. That does not happen in BF2042 at all.
All bf2042 has is controller acceleration. That's not the same thing.
- xXHappy_PuppyXx4 years agoRising Ace@Rabhimself1986 Simple solution is if the game detects a m&k you are only allowed into servers with m&k. If the game detected you swapping them out mid game gives you 10 sec. To reverse it or be removed.
The fact that effectively series x/s users are forced to play against pc players is biggest issue.
If on xbox only servers where everyone is on a controller with no aim assit that's fair. Right now the way to disable cross play is buried in the xbox ui. You have to go through 5 to screens to get to it and it's not very intuitive.
When I do turn off cross play there are no servers. You can sit in wait for more players over a half hour and it wont ever start. So forcing us to play against PC players. As the obviously most people dont know where in the ui the cross play is disabled.
M&K is such and advantage especially at longer range and short range fights and when using weapon turrets.
I played pc for years was ctf nova logic world champion team captain for delta force back in the day. I'm very well versed in m&k play. The reason I switched to console was the hacking scene on PC.
PS, for xbox users to turn off cross play you have to go through Settings/Account/Privacy/Xbox Privacy/View details & customize//Communication & multiplayer/ then switch "you can join cross-network play" from allow to block. Just a heads up this will block all cross play functions on the console. Also servers are few and far between you may have extreme wait times trying to find a match with cross play blocked. - @Rabhimself1986 Well said! It would be really fun to play against M&K and feel that you have a chance to compete! I also agree that in vehicle the need of assist is less important.
@xXHappy_PuppyXxI don't disagree with anything you have said. I believe other shooters implement this 'detect and switch' system.
There's a lot of threads actually on this topic and I just wished to state the facts surrounding M&K advantage. I think a lot of console users just want M&K support full-stop, but don't consider it an advantage against the controller users. This is all I was trying to warn against - any opinion that M&K is not superior to a controller places that individual firmly in the (overwhelmingly small) minority, not only with respect to other players, but also game developers. I have zero issue with console players wanting M&K support - provided if they use it then they have to play with PC players.EDIT: I actually have the game on PC and PS5 (I know, what a mug), and I know that I'm much more effective on PC. On PS5 I opt out of cross-play for the M&K reasons, as well as avoiding hackers which is a benefit of console play.
- xXHappy_PuppyXx4 years agoRising Ace@Rabhimself1986 At least on a PS5 you can effectively op out if cross play.. us series x/s users get screwed over, turn it off no servers to play on, turn it get farmed by pc players. Its utter bs from ea/dice
There’s a video on YouTube with a guy using Cronus max on his xbox with aim assist turned up in game to 100 and he’s somewhat maxed out on Cronus aim assist and it’s barely a difference. It’s noticeable but the screen shake makes it unplayable.
there def needs to be a fix. Tired of getting lasered across map when I’m still trying to pin point my target. So far yesterday I had to do something drastic so I can even play.
This helped me, not intuitive but their AA is actually so broken its ruining aiming altogether.
