Re: BF2042 won't launch

On the Intel-based laptop, where the game can be launched with no issues, I see the same "info"-level message about Denuvo v2, so it's not the culprit at all.

This problem is impossible to track down, because there are no error message, Windows applications or system logs, text logs, Origin error logs, Steam error logs or something.

What should I do to play this BF?

Thanks.

Hey, @Sick139  can you try a clean boot to see if any programs are messing with Battlefield 2042 and turn off any overlay programs, such as Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

  • Hey @EA_Atic .

I tried to perform a clean boot.

I also reinstalled Windows on the brand new 1TB nvme SSD.

I also installed Windows 11 to see if something differs.

I appended Dxdiag and msinfo to the live chat I had with one of your colleagues here. You can find it attached here as well.

I'm an owner of the Gold Edition and week after week I'm unable to launch the game.

    Thanks.

  • @EA_Atic So what's about the game? When I'll be able to play? What's wrong with my drivers? My CPU? My RAM? How long should I wait?
  • @EA_Atic OK, let me ask you something else. How I can make a full refund for this icon I have on Steam instead of a game? Steam doesn't want to issue a refund since it's been more than 2 weeks since the date of purchase.

Is there any EA refund portal available?
  • @EA_Atic im having the exact same issue.

    ryzen 5 3600

    rtx2070

    32gb ddr4 3200mhz/s

i already got my refund (lmao this game was awful on launch) but im trying to play it for free during ther steam promotion and i cant even get it to open

please ditch origin., it doesnt work and nobody wants another launcher

also c5 vehicle launching was in the trailer and its not in the game??????

  • @EA_Atic If understood you correctly, Webroot is an antivirus software and I don't have it installed on any of my machines. In fact, I don't have an antivirus software at all. I even tried to disable Windows Defender, but the game still won't launch.
