Re: Crossplay turned off problems !

Hey all!

Thanks for your reports!

Quick question; can you please re-enable cross-play via the old way (via Xbox settings) > reboot console > boot the game and check in-game if you see if enabled again and if you have the option to alter the setting?

To do it via the Xbox setting:

  • Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up Xbox guide.
  • Go to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety within your profile.
  • Select Xbox privacy.
  • Select Custom > View Details and Customize.
  • Choose Communication & Multiplayer.
  • Head to “You can join cross-network play” and switch it from Allow to Block.

  • @EA_Leeuw You keep writing the same thing, don't understand that it doesn't work. These are not individual cases anymore. You will get interested in this topic seriously, and forever, turn off the crossplay or turn it on. People have spent their money on this crap you can't even play.

@xboxrrod360, I am sorry, what do you mean exacly?

Since Update 3.1 the in-game cross-play option can be used on the Xbox via the in-game options of Battlefield 2042, instead of via the settings of the Xbox itself. It could be that because the settings for cross-play were altered via the Xbox settings itself, when the update released to change those in-game, the actual setting for cross-play did not get changed in this particular instance. Therefore we need to be sure that the option was actually enabled or disabled in this case.

    Are you inferring the following?

    1. Enable cross-play at the system level.

    2. Use in-game option to disable cross play.

    3. Join a match.

I have tried the following with the same results, can't join a match with cross play disabled. Enabled at system level and disable at the game level.

    1. Set system console level to "Allow" for cross-play.

    2. Manually close BF2042.

    3. Shutdown console.

    4. Unplug power for 1 minutes.

    5. Apply power.

    6. Start console.

    7. Open BD2042.

    8. Disable cross play via the in game menu.

    9. Try to join a match.

@th3zim, exactly, that's what I meant. 🙂 System level and in-game. Cheers! I unfortunately couldn't really find beter words to describe it.

Hmm, alright so that also results in the same outcome. Gotcha.

Question for you all, if you don't mind.

Of course it can also be possible that in some situations matches can not be found with cross-play disabled if the region that you're in is not populated enough with players who play the game on the same system as you're playing on, or time of day etc.

The question; could you please mention the region you're playing in?
  • Hi all,

I am playing on xbox x with cross play disabled,

I don't  find  any match, I am in Naples in Italy, but my friends  with the ps5 and cross play disabled they instead  can find match  and this is wierd...

  • This does not work as you cannot find a game when you do this don't want to play against PC cheats sort it out come on get a grip of this I will never pre-order another Battlefield again all because of this I don't want to play against PC cheaters will have no recoil one shot kill on every weapon sniper rifles just as bad text two or three shots for us to do it for a PC player instant lock on bum gone come on guys sort this crap out

  • I am in Norway. Tried morning, afternoon, evning, and even at night, same issue.

Disable crossplay by default on console. People that want to play with PC friends, can simply turn it on. They know how to. Most casual BF players don't think about turning off cross play ofc... Why would it be enabled by default? Doesn't make any sense. Every single game I have been playing this is off be default. But EA has to do the opposite, from every other game out there that I know of ?

I a starting to think I want a refund on the 100€ I spent on the game, and 50€ I spent in the game itself. Seriously. It's simply not possible to find a single.match. I am streamer, and I play most of the day. I can only play against AI.... And this is starting to want me to warn others about not buying BF, unless they want to go against PC players with mouse and keyboard due to the advantage they have, and the hackers that simply ruins your game. For most people there is a reason they bought a console.. to play on it like me, with my Xbox friends and other console plaayers . Don't mind if they are PS5 or Xbox. I simply don't want to have have hackers ruining.mh experience.

But seems EA is handling the part about ruining my experience fine by themself, as I haven't been able to play one single online game since I bought it.

Enough is enough. EA needs to disable this by default with a update, and then people can turn it back on, if they want to play with their PC player friends. Very simple.. just fix it. Takes a developer 5mimutes to do this. I know it takes a bit longer to push the update out, due to Xbox checking everything. But this needs to be fixed. And I am sending a comai t to Xbox as well about this.

    😡👎
