yeah the more I played BF42 Classic the more I realized it's basically  BFV gameplay with a BF42ish skin and BF42 rule set on it.  And I would guess that is what all of Portal is for the other old games too. But I am just guessing.   I haven't played the other ones yet.

It captures a lot of the spirit tho. 

I doubt it gets any more love going forward except perhaps another map or two.   It's a little appetizer sized taste of the original BF42 game recreated in the BFV level editor.
