How bloody sad are your engineers for this to be an issue? I can push my 3080 to 2150MHz and almost 450W power draw with 0 issues, the moment it hits 2050Mhz in your engine full of brain farts your game just crashes. Absolutely useless. Is this why we've paid you 100 euro? For this steaming pile of garbage?
Someone has Underclock Settings for rx 6900 xt that work?
Actual Settings:
Min: 500
Max: 2549
Voltage: 1175
This issue annoyed me since open beta, I then went out to try and figure out how to avoid it, Here is what I did:
XFX 6900 XT Merc Black
Driver 21.11.3
SAM-Enabled
min- 2350mhz
max-2450mhz
voltage-1175
+15% power
Surface optimisation turned on
BF2042.exe-disabled fullscreen optimisation
BF2042.exe-added it under exploit settings, overide and Disabled all
BF2042.exe-High priority CPU
BF2042-PROFSAVE DX12=1
Installed Complete Visual C++
No DX12 errors for 2 weeks and 4h+ each session every day...!!!!!! So the above myriad of alterations worked for me, give them a try..
My friends with stock 1080TI, 980TI and 2070, all have this hung DX error, none of them has an actual driver hang, only BF2042 seems to think it has.
What ever I did, seems to have worked.
No issues at 2540mhz on much more GPU demanding games, BF error that has brought terror for years for gamers.. Would not expect a quick fix from them, as it seems like an Frostbyte+DX12 issue in low GPU usage scenarios. But keep preassure on them, they have to do something eventually if they get enough flack from the community.. They can't ignore this coding flaw forever.. I rest my case..
- @-RoZ-Ourasi Do you mind going into detail on how you did all of that? I’m not all that tech savvy so I’m a little dumb on what that all entails
It is 100% the problem is the Driver, I did a test with a previous driver that the failure did not persist as much and when placing the most updated driver the failure was 100% of the time I could not even be in the lobby. that doesn't happen with the old driver I'm using. It is known that the game has optimization problems, but also the Drivers that are creating are coming with problems
- @KodaSucksTV do this, I am playing without problems on an AMD XFX Merc 6800 XT, you must lower the frequency of the GPUCoreClock, from 50Mhz to 50Mhz until you achieve the stability of the controller with the game. If you do not have any type of OC in your GPU, slide the frequencies with a difference of the minimum of 100Mhz with the Maximum, Example: Min Frequency 2500Mhz Max Frequency 2600Mhz, the frequency is an example you place the values you want until you achieve the stability of the controller with the game. I made it but I spent a lot of time testing Driver and frequencies until I did. The Driver I use for AMD is 21.11.3
- @TTv_TrackeR So I underclocked my gpu yesterday By 50 and it was a lil more framey than normal but I got around 20 extra mins of playtime before I crashed again and when I crashed it came with the GPU HUNG error along with the original error message
@KodaSucksTV Here I show you my values and I can play hours and days without any problem! The Driver I use is 21.11.3
- @TTv_TrackeR I’m also using that driver, I’m testing out different values as we speak. Here’s hoping
- @KodaSucksTV The problem is solved by looking for stability, you must first set the maximum energy consumption as I show in my image and then you look for the values, I don't know which GPU model you have, it would be helpful if you give me more information about your Hardware
- @KodaSucksTV friend I spent more than 3 days testing values and energy voltages to stabilize the controller with the game I was selling the graph of frustration
- @TTv_TrackeR Ah yes apologies my friend. I have a pretty underwhelming setup. My GPU is a Radeon RX 560 series and my processor is an AMD FX 6300 six core. It’s a cyberpower prebuild
It must run out of the box. No need to play around and waste our lifetime for such a * product.
- @Xairoo Aye, they should offer a partial refund or similar. Spent a ton of time trying to troubleshoot and we're just wasting our time.
- @TTv_TrackeR tried this on my 6900xt, definitely not a problem only of a driver. I went down with clocks etc, ended after i passed 50% of stock performance on my way down as it was pointless to continue and it did not solve the issue at all. Tried also last 5 driver versions. Also some extra like non-whql and beta drivers.

Absolutely correct. It's funny that we need to waste our time and mess around with our PCs and troubleshoot this game after paying them money to test their Pre-Alpha state product, When the problem is clearly not in our end.
If insane amounts of people experience the exact same issue in the exact same game while it dosen't happen on other games - This leads me to believe that the problem is clearly the game itself and not our PC and nothing we can do to 'solve' this.
It's their freaking job to fix that broken mess.
Nice the error is back.
- @datacrash Nice how was the other side? While you were there at least
I had 8 maps fun until I was helicopter passenger on the ice map.
At this point I think the only way we’ll get them to fix this is to make a lot of alts and spam the thread. But who knows thousands of people are already having this issue so maybe they just don’t give a * anymore
Im siding on they dont care anymore. Seems like this is a wide spread issue and its not even pinned in the forum.
here i crashed again ....
I tried to change my GPU from my 3070TI to my old one which is a 1070. Now I was able to actually get into a game. Before the game would crash in loading screen. Haven't played any match tho so I will try to play some games and update this comment later on.
EDIT: Played 3 games without a crash 👍 I'll play some more tomorrow.
