Re: DirextX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

My game is back to crashing constantly, was working okay for a while. Crashes got more and more frequent, not it happens in the menu before I even get into a game. * piece of * software this game is. DICE still couldn't possibly care less about this issue either. What a joke of a company.

  • I found that in my system if I enable docp ram frequency becomes 3600MHZ which is as per advertised but the games become unstable and gives this error.so i kept everything auto, changed Flck to 1600mhz and ram frequency to 3200mhz and now games are all stable,no direct x error.

  • I don't even know what you are saying, stop using shorthands for everything! docp? No idea. Flck? no idea what it is. Not at all helpful.

  • @Piksved How to Enable/Disable DOCP
Now, let’s see how to enable or disable DOCP.

    Asus

Step 1: Press the F2 or Delete key during the boot-up process to enter BIOS.

Step 2: Press the F7 key to open the Advanced mode. Then, click the AI Tweaker option.

Step 3: Now click the dropdown key located right next to AI Overclock Tuner.

Step 4: Select D.O.C.P in the menu. At last, click Save & Exit or press the F10 key.

After enabling DOCP, you can also set FCLK (Fabric Clock). It should be set to 1/2 of the MHz value of DDR4 RAM.

If you want to disable it, follow the first three steps mentioned in the previous section and choose to stop using DOCP automatically or manually
  • @AKKE47why should anyone start fumbling in his settings if every other piece of software works just fine. Something is wrong with this game, and i won`t risk bricking my hardware to play a dead game that is only geting the minimal possible support not even a year after release...

*edit: the bricking can occure from enldess driver crashes produced by BF , not from trying out new settings.

This game killed my GPU, but since i cannot prove that it was BF i guess it`s GG. I definitely learned my lesson.

probarly the reason the "software" killed your gpu , is done by your self.
    Didnt oc/volt correwctly.

    Didnt cool it enough.
In your rage you switch of system , while game just ended and did not cool down your system (gpu). -->> its like a car with turbo, you cannot turn of car directly after some fast driving (turbo use) to risk any damage caused by heat, if ya stop playing give your system 2 a 3 minutes to cool down , your cpu/gpu and mem get hot !!!

@Rokebo73 Not likely. My system is plenty cooled and the GPU runs at 75C. I randomly had 2 CDTs today within 30 minutes and then I played another 3h with no issue without even rebooting. It's clearly a real bug or bugs and they need to fix it instead of sticking the head in the sand. Just like the "DEVICE_xxx" issue. It's also real and ignored.
  • Today i finally bought ea play again for a month so i can test the BF2042,  AGAIN. Yet i did some modifications from back then. Currently i have 22.8.2 AMD drivers and i increased VSOC voltage from regular 1.125V to 1.2V which is still perfectly save for 24/7. And yet i was not able to reproduce the issue anymore, i dont know whether this fixed the crases or something else was updated within the game but my pc havent crash for 3 hours straight play. Game is dead and low population on servers so it was kinda boring after all this time, but still my undervolted and OCed 6900xt and 5900x tuned with CO and PBO with maxed out 3800 c14 ram did not crash whatsoever
