Is it your position that the severity and frequency of cheating is equal between PC and console?

If cheating is cheating - then do you not make a distinction between someone using an anti-recoil macro versus a more hardcore aimbot that can headshot people across the map?

Yes as a matter of fact my position is that cheating is equal between PC and console. I do NOT make a distinction between a macro and aimbot and neither should you. The are ALL cheats!

I'm not disputing they are both cheats. They are.

My point is some cheats are more disruptive than others.

Personally I'm willing to sacrifice a few seconds of matchmaking to ensure I never encounter the worst kind of cheats (among other reasons I'd prefer not to play with PC).

@AngrySquid270 I don't want to derail the thread, but you keep saying, "the worst kind of cheats". I don't see what the difference is, a cheat is a cheat is a cheat. That's like saying there are degrees of death...you aren't part dead or really dead. You're just dead...

Thank you for all the continued feedback, everyone.

Let's be sure to keep the thread on topic and not turn this into a cheating discussion, please and thanks. 👍

  • cheating is one of biggest reasons most of console players prefer to play without crossplay as on PC platform cheats are widely available paid or free. If the game is cheat "free" issue is frame rate difference. Most People with new gen console won't go 120hz in near future. Then of course is accuracy and movement possibility with M&K. pro controller users will loose mediocre M&K pretty much always. Aim assist doesn't really do that much. And if there's PC players complaining about even more reasons to do console only crossplay and leave "master" race in their own juice. I'm still playing on PC occasionally and most games I play there's cheating problems.

@scanerboy  although you have a valid point about cheating, it only adds to the problem. Even if we somehow manage 0% cheating, we still have the problem with crossplay with PC. The main problem being MKB vs controller. We need consoles with crossplay without PC and if Dice is not ready with this option, then have crossplay completely disabled and work on it until it is ready and then make it an option for people to enable that do want to play with their PC friends. It would be great to have crossplay with console as default, so PlayStation and XBOX. Most importantly, the crossplay without PC should be the default on console for this to work (if crossplay is not ready, then disable crossplay as default setting on console), if not the default we will never find a game to play on console. Most people after installing Battlefield do not go into settings, they jump in and start playing, which will result in a bad experience and you know what happens next, they uninstall.

I have yet to hear a single successful response to this one...so here goes again. For those of you that keep screaming "I don't want to play with PC because MKB is leet compared to controller", how do you explain those that play on PC WITH a controller? Why would you do such a thing if it was so inferior?

So your response is, "they're too tired to use KBM anymore"? Really, that's the best you have? Why would anyone, if KBM is so all powerful, limit themselves knowingly? Why do half of all the "pro" streamers use controller? It's because controller can be competitive with KBM IF THE GAME CODE WORKS PROPERLY. Stop finding any excuse to split the already small user base and blaming PC players for this game being sub par. It's just not true. IF the game was coded correctly, I'm willing to bet we wouldn't have all this screaming about PC. I play PC along with thousands of others and I don't think every PC player is cheating and KBM is not as good in this game as you think...in fact is broken af still to this day even with the last patch.

PC vs PS5/XSX(with all inputs kbm/gamepad)

    PS5 vs XSX

    PS5/XSX vs PS5/XSX

    or input matchmaking..

Only first you need to have people playing this game to divide the community like this ;-)

@Echo6Echo  the majority the streamers I watch use MKB on PC, and the streamers that play Battlefield all use MKB on PC. The pro streamers you mentioned using controller definitely limit themselves, just look at all the reasons listed in this discussion topic. Streamers cannot be compared to the general consumer and average gamer playing Battlefield consistently 1 or 2 hours a day, although not every day because we all have school work, jobs, chores and just life in general keeping us busy. The average gamer that play Battlefield PC will mostly use MKB. It is the average gamer that keep Battlefield alive because we play with our friends to have fun and for that Battlefield moments. We keep servers populated, not streamers. We play to have fun, so if you put a console player with PC playing Battlefield, you will not have a good experience, and that is why we have no servers populated, because crossplay with PC is default. Not sure how the "game code" you mention will resolve the issue.

Hmm, that's kind of a strange response since in post #204 you stated  "@AngrySquid270 Now there's the info I was looking for...all valid points." to the same exact post(#202).  That same post now gets a gross mischaracterization and dismissal from you.  Strange.

I'm not looking for excuses to split the community. Splitting the community is not my goal, it's simply something I am willing to sacrifice.  If you asked 100 people where they'd draw the line on what they'd be willing to sacrifice for better matchmaking I suspect you'd get many different responses.  This isn't a right or wrong situation.  People have different priorities, I'm sharing mine.  I understand and expect others to have different priorities.

As it stands today the community is split.  Last gen plays on separate servers. 20Hz, 64 player only, extra long load/match start times.

What would the typical PC player be willing to sacrifice to bring those players into the larger crossplay pool?  Would PC players be willing to downgrade to 20Hz servers? Give up 128p maps? Endure extra long load times so last gen players have shot at vehicles at the start of a map?  I suspect that the typical PC player would prefer to keep the status quo rather than make the sacrifices needed to play with last gen players.  I wouldn't blame those PC players and I certainly wouldn't be accusing them of trying to divide the community.
