Re: Keyboard inputlag Bf2042

I don't have connection problems, it's all about some weird input lag on the keyboard that makes the game unplayable. I press W and its delayed a few seconds, and the keeps running for a while after release. This only happens using keyboard, if I connect an xbox controller, works fine.

I really need help, this problem is after the new update, before it worked fine.

    Thanks for replying  @Rokebo73.

My mouse is currently at 1000 Hz, but I've tried lowering it to 500 Hz and still the same. By the way, the mouse works perfectly fine in the game. The only problem is the keyboard.

And both are connected via USB and have no other devices connected.

@CDNex  i do see some errors in dxdiag. But try to reserver cpu cores for game and system by USER.CFG , check forum for how to !!
I did see an LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Turing issues , thats gpu driver ! did ya already update or rollback driver to see if it fixes any issues ?
I also see a gameinputsvc.exe issue , this is a service you dont need. in services.msc you could set it to MANUALLY ! so it doenst start when windows is booting !!!

Also check your windows for any errors !
    SFC - Windows Health Check

Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
Use the following command lines, pressing Enter after each
(make sure you wait till each of the commands is executed properly):

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If there was an repair, reboot system and now use SFC SCANNOW only to check for errors again! repeat till all errors are done !

Now make sure windows is 100% up to date !
And install all the latest drivers with this driver easy tool, read below:
    SYSTEM DRIVERS AND CHIPSET UPDATE

Check the Youtube movie how to install , download and update ALL drivers.
    https://youtu.be/6UpzenfVOAA
Open the web browser and enter url: https:\\www.drivereasy.com
Click at Driver Update Tool in the upper bar and select Download Free Version.
Click at the green button with the text DOWNLOAD DRIVER EASY NOW.
When tool is downloaded select the file and run.
    Install Driver Easy Tool.

Some drivers updates need to reboot your system, reboot system when needed,
continue using Driver Easy untill 'ALL' drivers are updated.
This free version allows only 1 download and 1 update at once.
    Reboot your system

    test game and update us

PS i see a webcam connected in dxdiag ! Disconnect all extra hardware.
Also only use 1 monitor , 1 keyboard , 1 mouse , 1 headset , you MUST disconnect ALL other hardware (disconnect it when system is turned off)/

I've done everything you told but had the same problem. Then I tried closing some apps and figured out that after clossing Powerapps, started working fine.

Thanks a lot for your help 🙂

  • I am having this problem and so I am not using powerapps so what could be causing the issue. I have a razor keyboard and mouse and like it is recording the moves and moving the character much later and not timed with the press of the keyboard. The character is moving like is recording the presses of the keyboard.

@Kensulu  Also some high cpu usage ?
    Update us please.

    Follow those steps also https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Terrible-keyboard-lag-BF2042/m-p/12084570#M37123

    also do a cleanboot !
    Cleanboot / Msconfig

reboot pc by a clean boot:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd
Hide all Microsoft services, DISABLE (uncheck) ALL other processes, apps and services !

Cleanboot is just a one time clean boot ! Next reboot all will be reset and a normal boot will be occure.
Use msconfig to disable apps permanent each for new reboot.
DISABLE ALL other processes, apps and services from booting with windows, check instructions below:
Use the keyboard shortcut “Windows Key + R” and the “Run” window will open.
In the text box, typ MSCONFIG and press Enter or OK and the MsConfig window will open".
Select the tab STARTUP , and disable apps/programs by right click at them!
Those disabled apps will no longer boot with Windows , till ya set them enabled again !

Test game ! and update us again please !

    Still issues check this !

  • So I figured out what was causing my issue. When I closed the apps Icue software and EpicGamesLauncher the issue went away. I simply went into task managers, startup app and closed those 2 programs, rebooted and the issue went away.

  • Well that is not a good solution for me ICUE runs my whole rig! , Water pump and 10 cooling fans, I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I'll need a work around if this is the problem as my rig will overhead in a very quick time.

Update: Shut down ICUE and seemed to be a bit better, but not yet convinced as still having input latency
