Re: so DICE/EA will this game be abandoned ?

This BF2042 has a nice vibe but it's not a BF game. I have some fun playing it, but it's a different game.
What I think should make it better and more feeling like a BF game is:

1) Get the classes back:

Helping to get the feeling back of traditional BF but also to force people into thinking what they should pick. In which area then can support their squad.

2) Move the specialists to Hazard Zone or to any other separate part of the game, just like Hazard Zone and Portal:

Some point as above. But to add the fact that the specialist are fun to play, but not in regular BF style.

3) Only allow people to call in quads and jeeps without any armor or guns:

There are just too many EBAA, M5C, T28 driving around... It makes no sense. Also with point 5 below it's not needed to have them in this amount as we see them now.

4) Only allow the squad lead to call in armored vehicles and even maybe when they earned points while doing work on the field (destroying stuff, capturing points)

Wasn't BF always centered around teamwork? Give them rewards for doing so.

5) Redesign the maps to have more cover:

There is so many open space in some maps, so less cover then previous BF games. It's normal people call in that many vehicles.

6) Gucci:

This is actually not a must-have but rather a "what, how, why?" point and something that can be fixed in the future, which is:
- If previous BF had levelolution, where did it go now? Sure, it is probably demanding for servers and clients, BUT if it was done in BF4 (2013!), then it should be able to be done now. Hardware has progressed since then, so it just can't only be hardware limitations.

- Where are all the guns?

- Where is the stuff to make your own squads (kick, create), switch teams, etc. ...?

Just my 2 cents.
Side info: played all BFs since 1942, except Hardline, BF1 (9 hours playtime) and BFV (because of disappointment with BF1). I had big hopes with this one. The only part that convinced me for buying this after the BETA was the Portal part.

EDIT:

Even though being a dev myself, I blame the devs at DICE too, just like the suits at EA. Why? Because I believe everybody has the choice to say plain old "no". It's clear EA went for the money, at that's not what made DICE so big in the past. It's the passion and the unique feel they created with every BF game. Since most devs started leaving DICE, we should have known this was going to happen... What the left over devs did imo is just selling their soul. And this will backfire, exactly what's happening now.
So if anybody at EA is reading this: let the people at DICE decide. Let them read these topics where BF veterans give their opinion. Listen, adapt and get better.

I don't care about bugs, or bad performance. I don't care about missing content (for now). These things can get fixed eventually. I do care about the feel of the game. There was a reason why Battlefield existed, why Medal of Honor existed and why Call of Duty existed. All of them are world war FPS games, but each one of them became gold, because they were unique. Their own vibe, their own speciality. Respect and honor that, and stop copying others. You lost, admit it, now fix it.

  •  Dude name 5 games that ea hasn't destroyed  and cashed out on

  • Good point, where are all the guns?  The old modern series all had around 50-60 guns at launch. This game could do all modern guns, experimental/prototype guns and fictional guns as far as they aren't too far out there. ACR, CZ Scorpion, x95, desert tech MDRX, MP7, APC9, Striborg, Galil ACE, DP12, TS-12, MCX rattler, the 2 experimental guns competing with the MCX Spear, the new gun the CCP just implemented, FN509, p90, FN57, BREN 2 are just a few off the top of my head.
