Dreaded "Unable to connect to EA Servers" error

So I installed BF2042 a few weeks ago, when I started the game I got this error. My first instinct was to try and re-install, I did that and it worked fine. When the update launched I realized I installed it on the wrong HD and I needed to re-install to a different HD due to space. Now I can't get past this error. I have repaired, reinstalled, changed my DNS (google and open DNS), reset my network, restarted my router, disabled router security, disabled ad blocking in on my router, even saw posts where people mentioned a password issue... changed my password, logged out and back in, literally everything suggested I've tried.

Is there any hidden secret to get past this error? It worked fine last week, now I can't get in and nothing has changed.

Thanks

  • @baguscool hey man, check your router. If it is as old as mine was (8 years...) this might be your problem. My ISP came home and change it for free, and right away i was able to connect to EA servers on both of my game. ISP said that they cannot know how our routers are doing, only their internet terminal, this is why at first they said there were no internet related problem. Connection was unstable apparently. Hope this could help ! Good luck to you.

Thanks for this, I will dig through it and also check the error codes. It so annoying that it worked fine until I had to uninstall. Nobody I know has the same issue, and no other game gives me a similar issue.

Hopefully this gets addressed soon. Maybe I'll try opening a support ticket.

  • Same exact problem for me. Contacted my Internet Service Provider, no issues there. Chat with a real person (wow) on PSN network, the problem is on EA side. Open a ticket on EA help under my EA account, explain the problem, everything i've done so far to fix it...got two responses. "What is your email adress connected to EA account" (sigh) and then a other response "what is the message error". All i do is writing back the exact problem i have, no good answer for it yet, only basic questions already answered.
