Re: BF2042 timeout error on PS4

Hey @USAFMWDK9

When you have a moment, can we try the following?

  • Clear the systems cache (Close the game completely > Turn off the console > Wait 30-60 seconds > Restart and Relaunch)
  • Verify you signed into your PSN account
  • Check for updates
  • Restore Licence
  • Try the steps in our Connection and Advance Connection Guides
  • Open your PS4 NAT Type
  • Change DNS settings (You can use the public google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use)
  • Entering Safe Mode and Rebuild your PS database

  • Let me go ahead to do so today and see if that seems to help.  Thanks for your response.

  • I still get the same error message from time to time even after doing these changes.

Hey @USAFMWDK9 Thanks for trying those steps out, do you know if switching to a different networks changes anything?

  • I don't believe so.  I maintained the same internet provider and just upgraded my router and wifi system for more speed a few months ago without issue then within the past few weeks I began experiencing this error and timeout during active gameplay.  It is not every time but definitely a few times each time I play.  I close the game app, restart the PS4 and open BF2042 again and I am back to normal until within a match or two it happens again.  Then there are a few days it doesn't happen at all.
