I really enjoyed the console only crossplay but man, it felt like the game was always on the verge of creating a black hole it was so unstable.
Not always fun getting sniped by PC players but at least the game loads relatively fine with twice as many players

Can you find a 128 player match?
I haven't been able to get one (besides Exposure 128 on repeat in the first few weeks of season 1) since the launch of Zero Hour.
Can't even get Exposure 128 any more.

I haven't really had too many problems finding full matches (+/- a few bots) but you do tend to see the same few people in Portal spotlights. Mid afternoon and ~8 or 9oclock Pacific have been good to me - Easterners are still around and you can sometimes catch early Japanese and Europeans

Bigger population there. (EDIT - ha ha....just realised what I said there. BF2042 player population anywhere is a joke at this point).
I'm in Oceania (what the old "legacy" BF server browser called my region) and the 128 player matches are a thing of myth and legend at this point.

Ah yeah that definitely changes things. It sucks there hasn't been as much African and Oceanic support for a while (i think since bf4).
I can only really recommend trying to band players together on Discord, possibly Reddit and all agreeing on set times to play, be it Portal or FNB or what have you

I could organise a clan V's clan scrim (like I've done in so many other games)......oh.....wait.....no I can't because there isn't any clan support in this game.
XBox is getting Discord functionality soon I hear.
Hasn't been mentioned for PS5 as far as I know but it's likely they'll follow suit.

i've been playing on xbox one all this time because i refuse to pay over sticker price for a series x and i've had a really good experience
I've been playing the Xbox One version on my Series X for quite a while now. Usually I'll only play the other version for Friday Night Battlefield or if a friend on PC is about.
