- CarbonCarl5 years agoHero (Retired)@DingoKillr Oh nice catch! Looks to be sure we're heading to Kazakhstan. The pieces are slowly coming together.
There has been new info for the last-gen versions of the new Battlefield in development:

@Player55
I'm hoping all the focus stays on next gen. I understand why they would develop for last gen because many still can't get the latest consoles but full resources on next gen i'd prefer. - OskooI_0075 years agoSeasoned Ace
The rumor is interesting, but I personally don't believe it. EA won't ignore their largest customer base on last gen consoles.
It seems more likely EA will lower the frame rate and player count on last gen consoles.
I speculate DICE LA is creating a separate free-to-play Battle Royale build which will have dumbed down graphics and lower system requirements compared to the $60 base game DICE Stockholm is creating.
At least that's what I would do. Lower the free-to-play Battle Royale system requirements so 100+ player matches are possible on last-gen consoles and low spec PCs.
Meanwhile, the $60 base game can have higher system requirements and smaller game modes for last-gen consoles.

I'm pretty sure EA will build a version for last gen so they don't lose out on players, but I see it being heavily stripped down because the last gen consoles are nothing close to the latest in terms of spec, and if DICE are utilizing all that hardware then it's gonna be too much for last gen.
If they did have to heavily strip the game down then they would have to ask themselves, is it actually worth releasing a last gen? Because they could potentially be missing out on a lot, not to mention how would the game play out if last and next gen are playing together. Something to think about for sure. - CarbonCarl5 years agoHero (Retired)
Some added news.
- @DingoKillr Mentioned BF2: Surge map in regards to the map that's being rumoured which was a solid call, but it seems now it could actually be in japan as the rocket is supposedly Japanese. Maybe inspired by the surge map.
- The upcoming reveal trailer is supposed to take place at Tanegashima Space Center which would also solidify the above map location.
- There seems to be rumour of a map in the Alps where a large avalanche can take place caused by an explosion.
- Apache helicopter seems to be present and of course fighter jets.
Nothing really to add to the list but small bits of info keeps us all going.

If there's one thing to say about Dice/EA PR is that they are a masterclass at making no information sound like new information.

@Noodlesocks Lol very true but at least we got an update on where they’re at. Testing and polishing is pretty damn good at this point as usually they’d still be half way through building the game.
I also wonder how many didn’t realise the new game title and colours. BATTLEFIELD as the rumours mentioned.

@Player55Awesome leak actually, seems more realistic.
Edit: Updated and cleaned up the main list.
Cheers Shadow

Good job finding this info. Thanks for posting it.
More info: announcement of the reveal on April 30th and reveal trailer on May 7th:
- CarbonCarl5 years agoHero (Retired)@Player55 I’m hoping it’s next week, I can’t wait much longer 😩

Obviously I'd love for some sort of announcement this month but I'm not buying any of these leaks just yet, especially from Reddit.
I agree with the notion it's all or nothing for the team; they wouldn't be bringing everyone on board otherwise -- I may not enjoy BFV as much as other titles, but I still trust they'll make something great.
- CarbonCarl5 years agoHero (Retired)
@TTZ_DipsyI don’t see it happening within the next 3 days so if it doesn’t then it will officially be in May. So within the next 4 weeks at least is confirmed/official.
Also the problem with leaked dates is the fact a company can change those dates even if the leaker is correct. If a company announces a specific period (spring in this case) then I usually expect something at the very end. - CarbonCarl5 years agoHero (Retired)
So it seems that we might be getting crash landings for aircraft, something that was planned for BFV I believe but in the end not implemented.
I'm not sure how it works entirely but it sounds bloody awesome. Better than just hitting the ground and exploding that's for sure, plus I already have crash landing ideas up my sleeve lol.
Dream coming true ™ 🙌
