Re: Why is Conquest for 64 Players Gone?????

@GrizzGolf
Yeah me too, as I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, 128 / 64 Conquest should both remain permanently available, there is obviously a demand for both.

We had this set up for 3 weeks when the Battle of Nordvik was on and it worked well imho, it kept everyone happy..

Anything else should be part of the weekly time limited featured events.

  • And ... it's gone again, and the £s that I paid for this "game" are again as worthless as the 1's and 0's that make up the install that I'm going to delete for good now.

    This is just pure incompetence.

They must know from their internal stats that 64 Player Conquest is STILL the go to mode for most BF players.  Even on maps designed for 128 players, 64 players is far better because for the simple point that it is not chaotic, which is the problem and will always be the problem with 128 players on a single map.

Even with just looking at the externally available Steam stats (BF2042 Steam Charts)  you can tell when they drop 64 players, the player count nose dives.

The fact that 64 Player Conquest is not a permanent mode just shows that the DICE you have, is not the DICE from BF1942/3/4/5/.. it's just a group of people that work under that banner.  They quite clearly DO NOT PLAY BATTLEFIELD.  They seem to be really good at wasting effort putting out pointless self-promotional videos (e.g. Battlefield 2042 | Battlefield Briefing - Development Update May 2022) to massage their ego, but they actually don't have a clue.  I'm an ex game-dev, and I'd be embarrassed to work at a company that seems to think it's doing so great .. but doesn't even know what it's core player base likes.  I'd love to have the code/art that they have, open source it (lol) and we'll make Battlefield - it's not rocket science!

The great mystery with 2042 is, how when you have all the code, all the art, all you need, they just made such a complete mess of it.

Off the back of BF5 all they had to do for 2042 was basically put out an updated version of BF4, better graphics, really fun maps - some CQ, some a bit more open.  Stick to 64 players as a base that is permanent and bring new modes in and out to keep it fresh.  I would buy that, end of.

Shove "Specialists" where the sun doesn't shine and I'd pay another £20 to not have the nagging, winging, pathetic prompts to buy skins etc. from the "Store" that you get when you just boot up the game.

Stop selling skins to kids and then you don't need to break a whole game by needing "Specialists" and then having to try and re-work classes in over a year later.

Stop chasing "Battle Royal/Extraction/.." because it's apparently the next big thing, even though by the time you release the genre is dying and then having to try and re-work the proper game mode in days before launch.

I've had it with this junk, and being digital you don't even get the satisfaction of physically throwing it in the bin/trash.

    😠

Just burn the whole drive of where this data was stored, it deserves it. Jokes aside, i just played one round of 128 players, feeling empty now, done with BF2042 again, it is just not fun at all.

This is the first battlefield game I've played, and I quite like it, but there is so much I hate about it after 60 hours of play. Yesterday I was getting no connection on launch until I auto repaired easy anti cheat. Today I'm getting black main menu screens after the first game, so I have to restart between matches. I don't care for 128, yet they keep remove 64 player mode. I'm really tired of seeing console players snipe me across the map with small scopes because the auto aim gives them a huge advantage if you're fighting 1-on-1 with a long distances.

Then there's the constant overpowered vehicle repair and flair system. It's ridiculous, 3 people pop out of a vehicle and repair it in seconds. Tanks can't keep up to destroy something that's actively repaired, dumb.

I think I'm done. I just finished installing call of duty, which I've also never played. We'll see if that game is better and gives me some enjoyment... I think I'll uninstall battlefield next week if my feelings about it don't change.
