The differences are there, but they needed to build up momentum.

The patches the last few months are better and coming more often.

@UP_Hawxxeye yeah sure that is happening, yet we still have major technical issues persisting over a year after they were pointed out in the beta....

Zampella was mainly hired because of his mobile gaming experience and to bring the BF world to our smartphones.  One should never say never, but I do not see myself wanting to play BF on my smartphone (sort of... EVER).  But EA DICE have indeed just released now the BF game for the beta testing on mobile, but dont think he has spent much attention on the core BF2042 game for PC/consoles.

Though he might have the title of being responsible for 'everything BF', he probably was cleverly cautious and said that that boat of BF2042 had sailed and run astray long before he joined the company. Think we are many that unfortunately will have to agree with him on that.

Personally I wish we would have had tiggr back latest already around 12 months ago, as its just a tad too late to save the reck from the sharp reefs this boat is on now...  Fingers crossed he has the long-term intentions to stay around and then get to work on the next one for us.  Truly making it right from the ground up and not cutting it cheap around the corners!

    Mobile gaming experience? @CyberDyme,

You don't think the one of the creators for Medal of honor Franchise, COD Franchise, Titanfall, APEX and multiple of other games he has been working on and have been responsible has any merit?

@CyberDyme like @EA_Atic said Zampella has under his belt

    • Call of Duty 1 and 2 and MW 1,2,3 (the originals).
    • Jedi Fallen Order and soon Survivor
    • APEX legends
    • Titanfall 1 and 2
    • Medal of Honor Allied Assault

i doubt he had much to do with the mobile development since that has been going on well before he took over this franchise as well....
Zampella has been around the FPS genre for longer then most DICE employees i would reckon not all but the majority and he has developed games i would bet most people currently playing FPS games have played at least one he worked on....
and respawn entertainment has not really had any major flopps due to poor design or performance...

    All agreed @X-Sunslayer-X and @EA_Atic ,

Zampella has been around a long time in the FPS world and expect also his vast experience will help our BF world back to a better place!

Now as a CEO of a larger company, you are not involved in the nitty gritty part of the stuff anymore, but the overall principles and the business modeling to make it a profitable endeavor.  But an important part of such CEO role he used to have is also the skill to understand what competencies you need below you in the VP/Mgr levels to get the job done.

Personally I do not hope that Zampella’s job at EA indicate that EA wants to inject some of what made him a hero in his previous company, e.g. the 'free-to-play' 'battle royale shooterApex Legends so successful into the Battlefield franchise. Zampella has personally in his EA job not confirmed that Battlefield is going free-to-play, but he does venture into saying "EA is exploring every possibility along those avenues".  And yes, Apex Legends was already long down the development cycle for smartphones under his watch and direction.  These hot points (among others) were shared with us at the EA investor meeting why EA leadership considered him the strongest candidate for the job to lead the BF franchise going forward just when they came out with the announcement that Oskar Gabrielson was departing the company to 'pursue a new endeavor outside of EA...'.

When he says the future of this game does he mean the next Battlefield or this one?

    Hopefully both. 🤞

  • Unfortunately the ship has sailed long ago on the current BF2042 game we have.

Too much of the very core fundamentals of the BF2042 game architecture is beyond 'repair'.  Or at least, it would be harder, demand more resources, time and money to fix than actually to build a new clean perfect working one from scratch instead.

The next BF game is already on the design table and think best use of tiggr is for him to focus on getting this next one right.

Get all the legacy Battlefield checkboxes ticked off, done, done and done!

Heres hoping to it will be a homerun and the true Battlefield experience the next time around!
