- @Shibiwan Glint never existed in "early BF games". It was first added in BF3 and didn't exist before that. BF1942 up to BF:BC2 didn't have it and those were great games with good class balance.
Glint only serves one purpose, to cater to the full-auto run-out-in-the-open run&gun playstyle. It has got nothing to do with weapon balance, because if that would be the case then snipers should all be overpowered in all BF games that didn't have it, and guess what, they weren't. - UP_Hawxxeye3 years agoLegend
In spite of that, I see too many happy snipers forming constellations on vantage points.
Personally I use normally up to x5 scopes to avoid glints
It's punishment for not PTFO.
So you cannot technically "defend" the objective with a sniper, because some random guy with an LMG kills you from 4-500M away, that's your logic?
Thank you for the information of the X5, appreciated!
Either way, I ended up with a refund request, because that's pretty much unplayable.- @F_YOUR_AIMLOCK I'm very sorry you are unable to comfortably camp.

@KunstulaBC2 was when Glint was introduced.
And contrary to your statement, no it would not make snipers OP, it would conceal them, which would require teamwork to observe, locate and counter attack.
If snipers actually played their role, their much longer shots require more skill to hit a player at distance compared to the typical ranges of a LMG or AR player actually at the objective. the Role of a Sniper/Recon is to observe and make surgical kill shots to assist the front line players. The glint effectively removed that ability. forcing Recon/Sniper roles to play OUTSIDE of their roles. - AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@TooManyWhiners the fact you cant see past that and why a sniper role is merely an assist to the front line style players only shows your ignorance to the situation.
- @AOD_CapStar362 The fact you cant see that was a joke only shows your ignorance to the situation.
Removing the glint would only serve to cater to the players who simply want to camp safely on the outskirts of the map and farm easy one shot kills, without any fear of retaliation from players who have no hope of killing them from that distance without also resorting to sniping themselves.
Snipers can happily defend the objective. They just can't all bunch together and sit in one spot for the entire 40 minute match and become basically invincible to anyone not also using a sniper or a vehicle. No one's getting LMG kills from 500 meters away, so that statement makes no sense.
You and I both know that snipers have never played that way, and it has nothing to do with the addition of glint. Glint has actually forced snipers to play their role properly, because it's made it much harder for 5 snipers to just sit in an open field across the map and endlessly harass other players. Now they actually have to take up more tactical positions, making them more vulnerable to counter attack, which they should be.
It also should not require a ton of teamwork and coordination to take out a single sniper. If it takes 20 seconds for a sniper to get set up, it should not take 5 minutes for an entire squad to counter attack.
@Firebreath565nobody said anything about removing it, just reducing the actual size to be an actual flash/glint and not an entire flashlight. Look at CoD for example - https://i.redd.it/o1z1ihmixol41.jpg
And that's a comparison from CoD MW and BF - https://i.redd.it/ay67copkhak91.jpg
Aside from the glint, you get revealed by a heli/jet outta nowhere and erased within seconds, so there's that.
And as of the LMG I'll just record a video next time I play so you can see what mess it is.
Either way, uninstalled and got a refund from this trash, definitely deserves all the negative reviews.- UP_Hawxxeye3 years agoLegend

However most sniping youtubers who play aggressively with a bolt action, seem to also use x6 or x8 optics as well.
Though from what I remember the glint scales down to nothing depending on how close you are. According to this one, the glint is zero at 20 or less meters away
The same arguments made here were made many years ago. I've played every BF title since launch.
I was was in favor then and still in favor now of scope glint.
even if they got rid of sniper glint it wouldn't matter with thermals
- @AOD_CapStar362 Wrong, BF:BC2 did not have glint and I'm 100% sure of that. I played that game for around 600 hours mostly as recon, if it had glint I would have remembered it.
I agree with the rest.

I agree with the rest.Same, i played many hours of that game and i dont remember glint in that game
- AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@TooManyWhiners oh im sorry, i must have missed the non-existent laughing emojis or context to clearly indicate it was a joke. cant read your mind bud.
- AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@Firebreath565 i can easily prove that wrong - i regularly engage with LMG from anywhere at 200+ to 500 and can get a kill if the target is foolish enough to stick around.
- AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@Psubond being as long ago as it was, i am probably wrong about it.
either way, glint does need to be toned down, or removed. you CAN watch for a sniper very easily, all it takes is a single person to watch for the shots, another to zero and bracket in and poof - either sniper gets killed or has to displace. - @F_YOUR_AIMLOCK I'm that guy.
