Re: EA doesn't seem to be keen on anti-cheat
The anti-cheat works, but maybe not in the way that ACs did in the early 2000s, when you could really call it that, cheaters were few.
Today it is a completely different situation, where the internet is flooded with sites selling cheats of various kinds. The range is not limited to software cheats and PC anymore.
New hardware is constantly coming out just for pure cheating and getting advantages in games, and this for both PC and consoles, why is that? Because there is a huge demand for these products.
You can say that, the anticheat's role has become a bit of the reverse. It is no longer there to clean out the cheats, because that is an impossible task with a constantly growing pool of cheaters.
The anti-cheat is more there to try to keep the small crowd that doesn't cheat, and clear out just enough that you won't leave the game for good.
And it works, just check the threads about how many people are looking forward to a BF7. Why do you think all this will change in the next game?
Well, by the way, it will. But only for the worse.
