Re: Red Alert 2 asking for CD after launching

@Italianlord

Hmm. some other things you could try:

-Make sure the game is not installed inside Program Files (you can change the install folder in your Origin settings)

-Make sure the game exe files (RA2.exe / game.exe / RA2md.exe / gamemd.exe / yuri.exe) are set to run it as administrator.

-Try tweaking the compatibility mode on these exe files

-Try running the game exe files directly from the game folder (it should start the Origin login thing anyway, if Origin isn't already running. But it sometimes makes a difference)

    @Nyerguds

    Thanks for the reply!

    Unfortunately, these didn't help. I did find that the RA2.exe and Yuri.exe were set for compatibility of Windows 95 and set to run as an administrator, but both were greyed out and couldn't be changed. The Yuri expansion works as expected or at least through the couple of battles that I played.

    I have all my games, except a few on a separate SSD. I didn't find any other files or folders for CnC in my Program Files or (x86).

    I ran the .exe games from the folder, but they just opened Origin and sat there. Nothing else started.

    I sad that this isn't working. ☹️

    From all my years messing with computers and fixing issues, this one is stumping me. Maybe I'll try a clean hard drive with nothing on it and have Origin point and install from there.

    If any other ideas or suggestions pop up, let me know. I'll update here again with anything that I try, even it fails for me, it could work for someone else.

    For Win95? Buh. That's weird. You CAN change that, by the way, with the button at the bottom. It should say "change settings for all users", and will need admin rights elevation.

    I suggest trying to change that compatibility to WinXP SP3. I've heard it gives better results for RA2.
