Re: tinnitus sounds

Another related problem is that the difference in volume between footsteps as the most quiet and explosions as the most loud sound is VERY big.

This means that when I turn up the volume in order to hear footsteps properly, explosions become painfully loud.

I realize footsteps are quiet and explosions loud - of course. But the volume difference is way too big in BF2042.

@VOLBANKER_PCWhat sound settings are you using? There are some settings that can be adjusted (on PC anyways). War Tapes is always a cool sound, but it makes the explosions much much louder. I play on 3D headphones setting. I have a Sennheiser headset, and it has a preset called esports. It reduced the bass and allows footsteps to be more clear. I just got Dolby Atmos, and it’s got a preset for detailed, which again highlights the important background stuff. For the first time in 2042 it sounds like past games where the FX aren’t quite so pronounced. Atmos also has a great stereo setting for music too so I’ve been pretty happy with my $15cdn purchase. @binahsbirds something like this might help you. I agree that they should have more adjustments especially for those players with different challenges. Sometimes the tinnitus sound they add from an explosion close by hurts my ears too. They did recently adjust some of those things down according to patch notes, but there’s no reason not to offer the adjustable settings.

3D headphones here too. I will look into getting a Sennheiser headset with that esport preset because I need to get a mic too anyway. Might as well get an all-in-one. Thanks for the tip!
