Re: Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour You have encountered a serious error

No it doesn't. Even uninstalled fresh, then GenPatcher, still crashed Windows 10.

GenPatcher told you 'All fixes have been applied successfully' and you still get a Serious Error?

Tried it on 3 different machines. Fresh installs. Still crashes.

Right, so the game starts and you see the intro video. When does it crash?

    1. Uninstall your game.

    2. Go into all 4 game folders and delete everything (the location where you installed Generals, the location where you installed Zero Hour, the Generals Data folder in your 'My Documents' folder, and the Zero Hour Data folder in your 'My Documents' folder).
    3. Install the game.

    4. Use GenPatcher to apply fixes.

    5. Start your campaign.

If it still crashes, try playing in a window. Assuming this is a legal version, it should work fine.

Was going fine until Laser General campaign. Same exact crash. Plays for about 30 minutes, and no matter how many times I restarted from save point, it crashes around the same time.

Did you install the d3d8to9.dll? If so, remove it... it greatly increases the chance of the Laser General crashing.

Otherwise just save every 5 to 10 minutes until you finish the mission. Also make sure you play in a window, and not traditional full-screen. This can also help prevent the mission from crashing.

Nope. Crashes at same point every time, well into the laser campaign. Can't finish

Got my refund. You should get yours. EA don't care their product doesn't work on Windows 10. While some fixes work on start-up and other patches, the game does NOT run as advertised. Don't bother no matter how nostalgic you may feel lol.
