It'll take some time, but you can use the EA/Origin client to download the disc-less version of the game.

0.  Be sure you have your CD-Key recorded/available somewhere OTHER THAN on your computer, (and that you know the EA Account to which the game is registered, which is presumably the same one as you are posting under...)

1.  Make a back-up copy of your "\Bioware\Dragon Age\Characters" and "\Bioware\Dragon Age\packages\core\override" folders so you can be sure you have all of your saved games and any installed mods.

2.  Uninstall DAO.

3.  Install the EA/Origin client.    Download link at the top of this page: http://store.origin.com/

4.  Start EA/Origin and Register your EA Account in the EA/Origin client, then select "Origin" from the Top-line Menu.

5.  Select "Redeem Product Code" and enter your DAO CD-key

NOTE:  If your CD-Key isn't accepted for some reason, contact EA Customer Service at:  http://support.ea.com.

(See here for how to reach them: http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/images/1678793-1357867437.png)

Explain what you're trying to do and they can authorize the download for your account.

6.  Download and install DAO (about 24GB, took over 18 hours on my 1.5Mbs DSL connection.)

7.  Apply the 1.05 patch (doesn't do it automatically.  Don't know why not...)
8.  Copy your "\Characters" (and "\override", if applicable) folder back where they belong.

Happy Gamming!
