Re: Command & Conquer without Origin

@id10t5 Yeah, it is still required, but Origin has now been replaced with EA App which is at least a bit more user-friendly. The way Origin/EA App was integrated sadly made mod-support and command-line arguments support non-existent. Though multiple community efforts have been made to remedy this by replacing the Origin-launchers with self-made ones that fully support mods and command line arguments again. See here to download the currently most popular solution for this, Medstar's Fixed TUC launchers: https://github.com/Medstar117/CNC-Ultimate-Collection-Fixed-Launchers/releases/tag/v1.01

I honestly have to agree that the launchers that are originally provided are a bit much. Wish the games would be updated to be DRM-free, so it could also be released on GOG. But like RA3, CnC3 and CnC4 were on Steam, which only have extremely simple Steam DRM without any launchers or other limitations...

It's not the difficulty of using it I'm worried about. It's the thought of putting a virus in my computer. EA has become known as a untrustworthy company with malicious activities. I also need a internet connection to play a 30 year old game when I'm on the road or flying. My nephew and I used to dial in to each other and play. He wants his kids to be able to enjoy the same thing without installing these garbage apps.
