Re: Load game and dragon age crashes back to the Xbox one dashboard

To EVERYONE having this problem. It seems like there is no current fix. I have put many hours into DA:I before having this problem. It started happening today when I powered on my XBOX, I would go to launch the game, but immediately after the splash screen it would crash to the dashboard. I'll add, last night before shutting down for the night, while I was in Skyhold doing some modifications it crashed to the dashboard twice, within 15 minutes of each other - next morning (today) I try to start it up and it won't work at all. I'll also add that last night I was meddling with the Dragon Age Keep feature. Maybe this sparked the issue?

Either way, I have tried all of the trouble shooting options you can think of. Listed below:

-hard re-set xbox by holding power button, waiting for power bar light to go amber, then re starting xbox

-same as above, but this time unplugging the power supply from back of xbox and outlet

-re booting and re setting my router (why internet would be the problem, I don't know, but I tried this anyway out of desperateness )

-trying to run in offline mode

-trying to run while not signed in and even removing my profile from xbox

-clearing the persistent storage under "Disc & Blue-ray" (doing this again while having the Blu-Ray app downloaded on my console)

-clearing my Mac Address under Network settings

-uninstalling and reinstalling the game twice (both times I installed offline), tried running offline, and tried the second time while online - it prompted to patch DA:I which I allowed but still didn't fix problem

-I have NOT done a full factory re set of the console, but I am about to out of desperateness, even though I have read articles of other people trying this with other games and it still not working.

I spent 1+ hr on the phone with two XBOX support persons to no avail, running through (again) many of the troubleshooting issues I had already tried.

And, again, another roughly 2 hrs of time spent chatting with an EA Dragon Age help person, who was helpful, but obviously, did not fix the problem... Now they've passed the report onto a specialist who will hopefully be contacting me soon with a fix.

So, try any of / read into the troubleshooting options above, I hope they work for you. But yeesh, I've been cut one hell of an ugly piece of cloth. Nothing seems to work.

EA, please look deeply into this issue as I'm sure it's affecting many people. Put out a quick patch or something? Haha 😞
P.S. Other games work fine. I will update this if the factory re set works, but I really, really doubt it.

I hope this is fixed soon. Put in several hours and froze going into cut scene. Had to shutdown my Xbox One to get Dragon Age back up. Now the 4 hours I put in are gone. So frustrated as now the game isn't even loading, conintuously kicks out to the dashboard.

Don't worry, the game auto-saves frequently, so you can still load back to that. But yes, now you can't play due to the kick-to-dashboard. I am having the same issue.

After doing a factory re set of my console, I am just installing the game. It is the last step in all of the trouble shooting I can think of and find (I am the guy who posted above). It's just downloading the update overtop of the ~40% currently installed, then I'll try and start up the game. *fingers crossed* I will edit this post if it works.

These are the lengths we go to.... Uninstalling the hundreds of other gigabytes of games and content and factory re-setting your console just so you can hopefully get the one game you currently care about playing to try to work. I'll update my post if it works.

    ******************UPDATE*************

Factory re set of console seems to have worked. It still isn't finished installing so I won't go too nuts yet, I'm scared to exit out of it. BUT, I've made it through the splash screen and now it's syncing the rest of the data in the menu. So wewt! I hope!

Agreed. All troubleshooting steps equal and still unplayable. I am guessing we are in the minority since there hasn't been an official response or fix.
