Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition keeps crashing to desktop no error message, unplayable

I've played through 6 times, over 650 hours, with few problems (once I'd changed my graphics settings and eliminated the freezing/crashing there). Just started playing The Descent DLC for the first time, got about six hours in, then it just crashed to desktop in the middle of a fight, no error message, nothing. But now, when I try to return to that game, it gets right through the loading screens, then to the black screen immediately before it loads, and then crashes to desktop again.

I can't load any of my Deep Roads saves, only the Milestone: Skyhold from before I started the Descent storyline for this inquisitor.

I have had no other apps open (except Origin, of course).

I have just repaired the game, but it made no difference.

I'm running on a PC with no mods, and just the Jaws of Hakkon and The Descent DLC installed.

This is utterly unfuriating!

If you use the new upgrade with Lunge and Slash it will make you crash during story mode combat. I had taken the ability off the characters action bar. Now Dragon Age Inquisition works without crashing. This seems to have been happening for a while. So for right now it's the only fix.

This fix worked for me, too! I didn't realize that right before it started happening, I had given Blackwall the Lunge and Slash ability. Just took it off the toolbar and now I'm not having any problems again.

I wish I could use that to fix mine...but I don't use any warriors or lunge and slash ☹️ This is killing me x_x

The lung and slash is the problem... My game suddenly started crashing when it didn't do so before... Turns out if you have the trespasser dlc and the latest update, the effortless lunge upgrade compared to the usual great lunge upgrade causes problem... I switched to great lunge and have had no problems

What FINALLY fixed it for me was upgrading to Windows 10...The number of crashes have decreased from every 5 minutes to every so often (maybe 1 or 2 an hour?)
In short, I can finally get some work done in game.

That aint a fix tho'.. your game is still crashing..

To be fair I said it fixed it a little bit to where its not happening as much, not a complete fix. I was crashing every 5 minutes so to me that was a great improvement and could actually get * done. It's now reverted back to every maybe 20 mins but for awhile it helped. I did not claim it was a total fix.
