Re: NO Amulets of Power after Patch 5?

My suggestion? Play another game until it's fixed, then begin a new, fresh save with the next patch when it's out (IF they fix the issue, of course).

At least I have to thank EA for re-hooking me to Minecraft :P

I'm currently trying to use my "hero connections" to see if I can get some info about this. It might not work but it's worth a try.

I'm only going to update the post-patch save updates:

PC Post-Patch Amulets that I have found:
    1) Cassandra's amulet in Fallow Mire
    2) Varric and Ironbull amulets from war missions
    3) Solas amulet from elf quest in Hinterlands

    4) Cole amulet from 'Burden of Command' in Crestwood (NEW)

    PC Post-Patch Missing Amulets:
    1) Varric's in Valammar
    2) Inquisitor behind final frost door in Forbidden Oasis

    3) Dorian's amulet in still ruins (NEW)

    4) Dorian's amulet from Marcius of Griffon Wing Keep in Western Approach (NEW)

There are only 3 amulets for Dorian in the game.  The last is also a drop from 'Sand and Ruin' quest in Hissing Wastes.  Considering I have yet to see an amulet drop from a body, I suspect that EVERY amulet for Dorian has been removed.  I'll keep everyone updated.

    5) Blackwall's amulet in Adamant (NEW)

    6) Sera's amulet from red jenny war mission (NEW)

    5) Inquisitor amulet in fade with the broken mirror (NEW)

    6) Iron bull's amulet from Northern Hunter in Crestwood (NEW)

Oddly enough, the devs removed as about half so far.  And for some party members, most if not all.

Thank You for your tests. Was about to start finnaly playing the game. Would be pretty pissed off right now if I had. I am kinda copletionist kind of guy XD

  • Yep, just started a replay and I'm in the Hinterlands right now.  So far I'm seeing what everyone is reporting, looks like our original thoughts were correct.  Amulets that involve a chest appear to be missing, while amulets received as a quest or War Table Operation (WTO) are not affected by the bugged patch.

    Solas:

Measuring the Veil -  Amulet okay

    Varric:

    WTO - Varric's Revenge - Amulet okay

Vaults of Valammar - NO amulet

    Cassandra:
Champions of the Just chest - NO amulet

Another update, and none of it good.

PC Post-Patch Amulets that I have found:
    1) Cassandra's amulet in Fallow Mire
    2) Varric and Ironbull amulets from war missions
    3) Solas amulet from elf quest in Hinterlands

    3) Dorian's amulet in still ruins
    4) Dorian's amulet from Marcius of Griffon Wing Keep in Western Approach

    5) Inquisitor amulet in fade with the broken mirror

    6) Iron bull's amulet from Northern Hunter in Crestwood

    7) Vivienne's amulet in Winter Palace (NEW)

    *EDIT*

I created a nice color-coded table but can't seem to paste it here.  I went through ALL the amulets and took in the reports from this thread, and the summary looks like this (so far)

    Missing + Reported Missing = 14

Found + Expected to be found = 16

    4 Unknown

Not every amulet can be found in a single play through.  Some require certain choices to be made, or which path taken.   Expected amulets are from war missions that I have not done yet.  Of interest for the inquisitor, depending on choices, you may only have access to two amulets of power.  Three is the most you can have now, and that assumes you make certain choices in the Winter Palace and a war mission reward is successful.  Many companions can expect only have 1 amulet of power now:  Dorian, Blackwall, Cole, Sera, and Solas.  Vivienne, Varric, and Cassandra may have two, but Cassandra's depends on choices made with templars vs mages.

    Basically, about half were removed.

Your right about Dorian and Iron Bull. I read up on this game. I thought it would be a fun game to have I'm happy I chose it right up until the point when I started looking for those amulets. Man was I disappointed. Felt like I was at a car dealership with the sales person hyping up a car, but when I got the keys and tried to start it I discovered there's no engine. I mean wtf EA and BW since when do you create a great game like DA3 then turn around and pull out its guts. We the people who like to game and might I and pay a hefty price to purchase these games the least you could do is stop reinventing the wheel.
