Re: EA Desktop APP can't detect already installed games

I was able to get it to detect a directly purchased game that I copied the previously downloaded files to the EA app default install location and then when pressing download it verified the files and marked the game as installed.

However I purchased 2042 on the epic store and despite trying to use the same procedure as the directly purchased game the EA app insists on trying to download the entire game from scratch again.

So far STEAM, Ubisoft connect and Battle.net are the best by a country mile for locating previously installed games. EA App and Epic are both terrible to use and it doesn't look like they're going to fix this anytime soon.

Pretty poor for a big company like EA to have an interface that has such poorly developed features when compared with their competition. You won't conquer the PC space if you don't at least provide the same level of convenience found in other similar apps.

    EA Client just bad.

    Installing Apex legends whole day, info says 22 Gb, installer says 67 Gb and at end 80 Gb taken and game not even started.

    Failed to finish install due to already installed VC, did App recovery as support suggests, restarted client and now asks to redownload from start while cannot recognize 100 % downloaded game in folder. cannot start the game as says the game is probably owned by someone else or some other similar atrocity.

    With this new EA app (looks a lot better, btw), has anyone been able to find a way to add an existing installation? I've got Apex installed on another drive and I don't want to go through the time to re-download it. The previous Origin app was able to do it, where's the feature on this new app?

    Don't tell me this entire EA app was re-written from scratch? Dev's could have at least re-used the code for moving a game or finding an existing installation...
