Re: Linking xbox game pass to existing account.

I've fixed it, no worries. It was quite easy actually. If you have this problem just log into the site using the buttons at the bottom (Xbox Live button) and you should be able to change everything. Don't know how to close this thread... Or if I can.

  • So this is what worked for me.

Start in the Xbox pc app. Click on an EA play game to install. Log into the EA desktop.

Go back to the Xbox app. Install the ea play game.

If it still wants you to sign up for EA play then log out of the EA desktop and log back in.

This was an annoying hour of my life.

Im having an issue with this. No matter what i do it keep signing me into a EA account I dont want. Its not even giving me the option to sign into my own account. Just some randomly generated account it made for me.

I'm having the same issue.  I'm on some random account, and when I chatted with support they sent me an email to verify ownership.  That email went to my main email, which is linked to my main EA account, which is NOT the account that Xbox signed into when I launched EA Desktop.

I honestly wouldn't care much that I'm under a different name, but I'm having problems.  I can't play Star Wars Squadron.  It says "Failed to Authenticate" when I try to launch it and says that I need to sign into an account that owns the game.  Frustrating.

This helped for me.  Thankfully, it only took two tries.  Thank you so much for your suggestion, waterluffy40.  I appreciate it!!

The bottom of the login site. It'll allow you to change anything you want and unlink the xbox account from the new account

  • Log into the ea account through the ea login by using the xbox live button at the bottom of the username and password area. Then you can unlink it from your xbox

@RABBIT01010 I found it, and unlinked all accounts, then signed out of both apps and restarted xbox app as signed out then clicked open in ea app, then it wanted me to first sign in on xbox app i signed in using current profile, then it opened login for Ea App then i signed in as usual then it asked do you want to link accounts, i said yes. all good now

  • It won't fix literally anything.

If my EA account doesn't exist anymore and it was linked to my Xbox account (which exist obviously and it's the one I use to get the Game Pass), if I login with another account in EA Desktop it says "get EA Play!" but I have it with the Game Pass Ultimate! If I try to download any EA game from the Xbox app I get this message since 3 days "Something went wrong... To continue linking your EA Account, head back and start over." So? What do we need to do EA? People needs to unlink EA deleted account from their console's account, here's the point. Until they don't fix this huge problem we will not be able to play any game on PC, Xbox or even PlayStation due to this inconceivable logic.

  • This is my exact issue.  In my case, the account listed for me is something I don't recognize, so I believe I may have been hacked at some point.
