We can complain until our faces turn blue if we want. They won't accept that the EA App has failed in its current state! - *I am a little angry still, but I am way more mellow today than last Monday.*
Come on.. How hard is it to build a new client using the framework from Origin, and keep the working features intact? I don't care if we are eventually needed to use EA App, but please, for the love of God, finish that damn thing before pushing it onto end-users.
A list of issues that needs to be ironed out below:
1. DLC downloads that doesn't fail. This one is important!- EA App has major issues with DLC downloads, especially for older games.
2. Join/invite option by right clicking on a friend in your friends list -Every other game client has this feature! - Steam, Ubisoft, Epic, Battle.net, you name it. Even Origin! - Not all games has a built-in friends management system. - Also important!
3. Overlay not working in all games. My testing is a bit limited, but the classic Mass Effect Trilogy, the Dragon Age series and a few other older titles does not allow the EA App's overlay, as these games asks for the Origin overlay. - Not that big of a deal if the friends list gets fixed first.
4. Games not showing up in the library, despite being installed. - This is a big issue for people that either canceled or lost their EA Play subscription, us who had trial versions of games installed, or people in general not finding their Origin library in the App. - Highly important.
5. Download speeds are inconsistent. - There has been many complaints regarding slower download speeds in the EA App compared to Origin. Note: I have not tested this myself, but from recent memory, I remember getting up to 116-117 MB/s through Origin (I have a 1 gigabit connection). - Somewhat important.
6. App crashes frequently. - There has been many reports of the App crashing quite often. Unclear what the cause might be, but it does crash a lot. - Also important!
