Re: STOP Turning the Stupid Overlay back on after EVERY patch
Hey @Vyrulian,
That's indeed... odd. It shouldn't turn itself on again after an update. Good that you mention this.
Out of pure curiosity, which EA app version are you currently using? And do you have the EA app in-game Overlay currently turned off?
To check your current installed version of the EA app, open the app, click on the hamburger menu (the three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner, select 'About', and check the App version. All the numbers before the second (2nd) dash (-) are the most important.
If you currently have the in-game Overlay of the EA app deactivated, could you possibly provide us with an EA app Error Reporter ID in this thread? Afterwards, please verify manually if there's an available update for the EA app (by following the steps here), install it if possible, and check if the EA app in-game Overlay has switched itself back on. If it has, kindly share a 2nd (new) EA app Error Reporter ID.
We would also appreciate it if you could share some EA app Logs from before and after the update in this thread, but only if the EA app in-game Overlay has surprisingly turned itself back on.
How to collect & share EA app logs:
- Copy and paste this 'url' into your Windows Explorer window: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\Logs. Choose all files, and copy, and paste them into a folder on your desktop.
- Repeat this with files located in %ProgramData%\EA Desktop\Logs, ensuring separate folders for each set of files.
- Once completed, please generate a .rar file of the two folders and attach it to your post here in the thread, along with the EA app Error Reporter ID(s).
Thanks in advance!
