Re: EA app creates Start Menu root level folder and associated entries on startup

hi, apologies for delayed reply - I've had to wait a few days to see whether this happens at random or every time I the EA launcher app starts up.

I don't use either the Xbox app on WIndows or the EA app on Windows very much. (My PC is mostly for work, and gaming is something I do mostly on my Xbox in the living room.)

I just fired up the Windows Xbox app after not having used it for a around 2-3 days.  It triggered the EA app to start and, predictably, it recreated the EA folder and shortcuts at the root of my Start menu.

I can't test every criterion under which EA's app automatically creates these shortcuts but perhaps EA could provide an option that's selectable on initial installation of their launcher app to determine in which Start Menu folder to place shortcuts. Many Windows applications, upon installation, ask if and where to place start menu shortcuts.

If the app being so determined to recreate its start menu shortcuts when it starts up does so in the previously user selected folder (i.e. in my case, C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games ) then this wouldn't be an issue.
