Re: DAI freezing on a white screen after ending a specific cinematic

Most often this is caused by a mod conflict....

If you aren't running mods, then a DxDiag may help us figure out what is going on.  Also turning down the graphics to low has also been reported to help some crashing on DAI.

If you are running mods, then search White Screen at Solas Revelation/finding Skyhold and it should bring up a known repair for it.  Nexus forum if you choose that one the updated fix is on page 7.

@mcsupersport If it's caused mods, the easiest way is to remove the mod folder temporarily, increase the version number in package.mft in the patch folder (so the save can be loaded), get through the cutscenes, save, quit game, revert the package.mft version number, put the mod folder back, continue your game. If you're using any mods, it's a good idea to do this for every playthrough at that point, as there are so many cutscenes etc. that you have to redo if you get the white screen issue. (Why yes, I did grow to *hate* that song 😛 ).

  • Side note:  You don't have to "revert" the MFT number.  As long it's the same or higher than the one recorded in your save, the game will load the save just fine.
