A Way Out and It Takes Two - Steam "You don't have access"

Just bought "A way out" on steam with a friend.

When we click play, the EA store opens and says: "You don't have access, This title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game, Log into a different account or restart the app and try again."
Why is this happening and what can we do to fix it

  • Bought It Takes Two on Steam, tried running it. Was forced to download EA app, got "you don't have access" error. Now what? I refund the game?

  • I've bought the game through Steam and whenever I want to launch it, I get a message "you don't have access". I've tried everything from clearing EA App's cache to unlinking and relinking mi Steam account from EA.

  • So I can't launch "It Takes Two" from Steam. I keep getting an error saying that I don't have access to it on the EA App. I've tried killing the process via task manager and reopening and I've also tried updating it and for some reason nothing works. I can see online on the EA website it shows it as a game I own but the app just doesn't show it. I'm kinda lost as to way this is a constant issues with so many people and how nothing I've tried seems to work. I've probably tried every method out there. (Verifying game files, running as admin, uninstalling/reinstalling, I don't have any firewalls or anti virus that would block games either, Updating DirectX file in the game files)

  • Anyone else having an issue with ' It Takes Two ' purchased through steam, being claimed by EA ( which has my steam account linked for years now ) that I don't own the game. I bought this game less than 24 hours ago.

  • So, I bought A Way Out on steam and tried opening it up and when I did it opened up the EA App and gave me an error or "You don't have access" and so I bought it on the EA App and it won't show up in my downloads and still won't launch. How do I fix this? If it isn't able to be fixed, I would like a refund on both steam and my EA App Purchases of the game.

    Same exact situation here.

    Got a refund Via steam, bought it through EA app, cannot download. Shows I own the game through EA's website, but no option to download. All help threads I found lead to "Self Help" pages with zero real answers other than "Clearing the Cache" (Doesn't Work).

    @rottonmemory Hi rotton!

    Sorry to say I'm having this same problem with NFS: Heat. Pissed honestly. I've been skewering for solutions for the past hour and from what I'm seeing this is a problem EA is fully aware of and flat out refuses to address. I'm actively reaching out on several platforms personally, but I'm not sure what fruit it will bear. I'll keep you posted tho. If nothing, get a refund. That's exactly where I'm heading if I don't hear back within a day or two. If boycotting EA is what it takes to make them aware of their garbage systems, it'll be worth missing the games unfortunately. They've made their own bed.
