Honestly, agree. I'm not sure if they're being supportive or if we're being trolled.

Maybe a little of A and a little of B?  I feel like if they wanted us to know they were working on it, someone would come out and actually say, "Hey this is getting development time!  No ETA yet but it's definitely getting worked on."

Though that can bite them in the a** if they don't deliver... so maybe just granting 85XP on a post is there to make us feel better.  Who knows?

I actually think that is a bot account that's gotten confused. I think I've seen it add XP to 'solutions' across the forums. Perhaps in this instance it thought this post was marked as a solution when it isn't.

Could mean something, could mean nothing.

Yep, it's been nearly four weeks now, and we've heard nothing definitive one way or the other, which is disappointing. As you say @thekurse it would be better if someone just came out and said hold tight, it's on our to-do list, nowhere near the top, but it's there.

Still no changes to the unlinking accounts page since early February.

prolly a troll, their thread is random when they could have posted on the 13 page thread instead.

Does seem like an odd thing to create a whole new forum thread about, but then I'm sure there are lots of frustrated people out there.

I don't know how easy this thread is to find.

I just don't have the time to go on the chat to ask about progress and policy changes proactively, but maybe something is happening.

Absent any new information from anyone officially, we live in hope!

  • @Gaycob Nothing yet. I'm wondering if there's a changelog we can view anywhere for updates to EA Play services / EA Desktop app?
  • I have the same problem as well. I have repeatedly requested support from the xbox team and the ea team. They didn't even understand my problem. My EA account and Xbox account that I have used for years are in the same mail. I cannot link this account. all my uploads are complete (EA Desktop) My account is open in two places. I can see my BF4 game installed on the EA Desktop screen on the Xbox page, but it does not run and I cannot add a new game via xbox, for example sims 4 or BF5. A blank screen pops up and disappears. For this reason I cannot link my accounts.

I have the same issue, I've unlinked my old Xbox account and now it seems like I have to wait six months before I can link a new one. This is insane...

You may find that even if you do wait the 6 months that the system as it currently stands will never allow you to link a different xbox account to your EA account because its had an Xbox account linked to it previously in its lifetime.

That's the policy/system restriction that has caused most posters in here so much trouble.

The sixth month thing is apparently for linking the old Xbox account to a new EA account, not for linking a new Xbox account to your old EA account.

    It is insane.

  • @raz3rITAYes seriously. If you have ever linked an Xbox account to your EA account, that original Xbox account is the only Xbox account that may ever be linked to that EA account. 6 months is only a cooldown for your existing Xbox account after it has been unlinked from one EA account in case you want to link it to another (also a very bad policy).

It's a terrible policy that seems to be affecting a decent portion of their customer base that they have gone completely radio silent on.

    @-6thAD-Bogardwhat? seriously?

Unfortunately. I wouldn't want to wait six months for a solution anyway, but for all we know this may take longer. Or may not happen at all. I play Apex Legends everyday, I have played thousands of hours of Battlefield games and intend to play BF6 on this account. I do not think juggling two accounts is a reasonable solution, and I wish they'd at least acknowledge that they'll work on an alternative for us.

Just to rub salt into the wound, I keep hearing rumours that BF6, or whatever they decide to call it, will be available on EA Play via Xbox Game Pass. But will we be able to access it that way? No, not unless either this issue is resolved, or we bow to this ridiculous ‘solution’ that means we create a second EA account, or, perhaps most ironically, pay full retail for the title just to have the privilege of using our existing EA account.

It must have been well over a month since I raised this issue, there’s been no progress that we have been made aware of and precious little communication.
