Tottenham's "Prove It" Match: A 3-0 Victory Over Bournemouth
Tottenham's recent 3-0 victory over Bournemouth may have looked like an easy win, but according to Ange Postecoglou, it was a crucial match to demonstrate their abilities. Following a lackluster performance against Manchester United, the team worked diligently to shift their mindset. Postecoglou emphasizes the importance of maintaining intensity, regardless of the score. In the previous game, Tottenham was fortunate to win despite having a three-goal lead. Postecoglou indicated to the players that he wants them to continue playing with the same level of fervor even when ahead.
Tottenham succeeded in doing precisely that, not allowing any shots from Bournemouth after securing a 3-0 lead. The late substitutions of Pierre Hojbjerg, Ben Davies, and Manor Solomon, with their unwavering intensity, gave the impression that Spurs were losing the game.
Postecoglou acknowledges that altering the team's approach is a gradual process. They are accustomed to securing a lead and then holding on for the win. However, Postecoglou intends to change that, emphasizing the importance of always playing on the front foot.
In other team news, Cristian Romero has recovered from his groin injury and is back in shape. The young talent Ryan Sessegnon showed his potential in his debut, earning the man of the match title. All eyes are on Sessegnon this season to see if he can earn a spot on the Spurs squad or if he will depart the team.

A perfect start for two London clubs and not the two we are used to seeing at the top. Tottenham and Crystal Palace have the most points and best defense in the league only allowing two goals this season.
Mauricio Pochettino is finding his way at Chelsea, sitting in 8th place on six points. Chelsea lost to Liverpool to start the season and then won against West Ham and Luton Town. The bottom of the table is where it is interesting. All the expectations of Newcastle United and they are in last with 0 points and only one goal scored. Sheffield United and Brentford also have 0 points with Vincent Kompany's Burnley only on a point.

Good start. It's a bit weird seeing Palace up there, but presumably it won't last.
- LABoog42 years agoNew Ace@CO88LER5 That is my thought too. They have some talented players though; Eze, Olise, Guehi, Anderson, Edouard, and Lerma are good FIFA players, just not consistently good in real life.

Spurs suffer first defeat in wild early kick off
Tottenham traveled to Turf Moor as big favorites but were quickly brought down with two goals in the first 23 minutes by the home side. Tottenham fought back and benefitted from a man advantage to draw level before suffering their own red card setting up a late win.
The home fans were singing loud from the start in a wet Turf Moor, not showing any fear facing the league leaders. Vincent Kompany's side followed suit going two goals up before Tottenham woke up. Tottenham took control of the match after the second goal but could not beat

Unfortunate defeat at Burnley, looks like you probably deserved a bit more from that game. But I also suspect that you actually tried this and perhaps opened up a bit, allowing the hosts to make the shock winner in the end. Anyway, still a great season so far. Unfortunate to see Maddison picking up an injury. Let's hope it's not a severe one.

2 goals from 18 shots and they get 3 from 5.
Funny how often that happens in real life too.
What's the Maddison injury?
