Re: Unable to connect to EA download manager

Having the same problem, have reinstalled the 'Origin', and when the launcher comes up I still get a message saying 'unable to connect to EA download manager'. I have tried to create a shortcut like suggest on another thread but the launcher is still coming up with the same message. I brought the sims 3 starter pack, and played on 'The Sims 3' game once, after downloading Late Night the error has occurred. HELP. Played a lot for that!!!!

What happens if you just click the message away ? What are you trying to do ? Play the game ? Install an expansion pack ?

What is your base game version right now ?

Open the launcher and check the number in the lower left corner

I am just trying to play the game. I played it once, worked fine. Downloaded another Sims 3 game and this started to happen. All I do is press play on the launcher and nothing happens, it just closes down.

    Version; 6.0.81.019017

You're not update to the latest patch then.

What failed when you tried the super patch ? Did you download and then doubleclick on the file to install ?

    What's your opertating system ?

I installed it , and it was installed to the launcher too. However, the 'unable to connect to EA manager' is still showing and when I press play, still nothing will load up?

Can I get my money back? Tired everything suggested now and still nothing, been on going for 2 weeks

BitDefender is a security software that conflicts with the game on Windows 8.

is there an ad blocker or pop up blocker stopping the connection ? have you tried giveing origin admin rights  close the origin client and go directly to you origin folder  C:\Program Files\Origin Games. Run the origin.exe in this folder with a rightclick -> run as administrator restart the computer or C:\Program Files\(x86)Origin restart the computer

have you tired the beta version of origin ?

Launch Origin and log in with your account

    - Click Origin in the top left (main menu)

    - Select Application Settings

    - From General tab, scroll down to "Update to the beta version if available" and tick the checkbox

    - Restart Origin

    edit minor dp

So you have no game specific sims account on Origin (as shown in picture above)

The sims I have is; Sims 3, Sims Nightlife and Sims High-end loft stuff. I played sims 3 once or twice, then downloaded nightlife and high end on to my laptop. Brought the download version online as I have a netbook and downloaded the games via origin.

    Not what I mean.

If you go to your Origin account setting, does it show your thesims3.com identity as connected as it does in the one I posted earlier. Do you have a game specific identity for the sims 3 ?

Also, you play on a net book ? Those are below specs. Might be your issue.

no, the sims website wont allow me to create an account.

right, well why was I able to play it before with no issue until I downloaded the other games

there was no information saying it will not work on netbooks? So how do I claim my money back?

The game has minimum specs and net books are normally below those.

I can' tell you what your main issue is but I feel I can't help you, so I'm sorry. Maybe someone else can.
