You can reset your sims with the cheat resetsim <firstname> <lastname>.
This will put them in a safe location, you won't loose any progress.

Hi. My sim is stuck in a flight of stairs in a building in town after she just got kicked out of someone's house after crashing a party.
I tried both reset sim with the names, and i tried just resetsim to reset the whole town. No matter what i do; it's not moving her anywhere safe. everytime, she's still stuck in the stairs. and i'm hoping you're NOT gonna ask me just to uninstall and reinstall all my games ot fix that. >< that'll take like over an hour.
there isn't a way to get into some kind of debug mode and manually move the sim elsewhere? :Oresetsim * (you need to put a * there) resets all Sims. Are you sure you spelled the name right ?
