- @puzzlezaddict I only see it in the Origin Downloads folder..that's it... I just reinstalled the EA app. Those Origin download apps are not responding, saying I need Origin to play, should I reinstall Origin app again.?

@indycutie Please delete everything in Downloads with Origin in its name. Then use this guide to uninstalling "the hard way" to remove any leftover Origin-related files:

Restart your computer, and don't open the EA App. (Make sure it's not running in the Task Manager as well.) Download a fresh copy of Origin and run the installer as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart again when it's installed, and again make sure the EA App isn't running. Then try to launch Sims 3 from your Origin game library.
If Origin doesn't think Sims 3 is installed, right-click on the game icon in your library and select Locate Game, then choose the location where the game is installed. It might help to run a repair afterwards (in the same right-click menu). Then launch the game from your Origin library and let me know what happens.
- @puzzlezaddict This morning I did everything you said & it went well. I then re downloaded Origin. It went into downloads, but won't install or run...so right now, no Origin shows up on my computer.
- @puzzlezaddict I also remembered I have a Windows10(32bit) laptop I played TS3 on in April. I stopped using it because it ran out of memory and storage. I pulled it out, clicked on Origin and got to sign in. Then game loaded and played. Anyway, I copied the Origin files to a UBS flash drive. Wonder if I could copy & paste it to my desktop computer? And if so where and what location would I put it, if that might work🤔🤔
@indycutie You can't just copy an installed program from one computer to another. So either we get Origin installed on this computer, or we figure out how to make the EA App work.
For Origin, what happens when you try to install it? Do you get an error, and if so, what does it say? Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

- @puzzlezaddict When I download Origin and select run, it won't go any further with the installation. I also was able to get the dxdiag info, read the link, but it won't attach it here.
- @indycutie hi, I finally got the Origin to install. Even got to my Origin games. Then it booted me off, saying It encountered an error. Said to quit and restart installation. Also gave an Error code -1:0... But fror now now Origin is showing up on my computer
- @puzzlezaddict Right now tonight I have been able to play TS3😄. The sound stopped playing, but it's okay. I will see about that later but I'm just so excited to play again & hopefully tomorrow.. You have stuck with me with ALL your knowledge thru all of this ordeal for me. I'll keep you posted and hopefully all goes well. So far so good for now. And you deserve accolades for the help you give.👏👍

- @thesims1depot I surely will. Since I've been having tremendous problems with my Sims3, I'm taking it day by day. Will play it in the morning and see what it does then🤔
- @thesims1depot Hi, this is the 2nd day playing TS3, since getting game fix help. Still okay for now. As far as the sound, I restarted my computer and went thru Origin. Then did a repair to TS3 in Origin app. Sound is working well now. The EA app won't open....but Origin does.
I have been happily playing TS3 for about a month now. I went to play this morning and got Origin saying I need to update the EA app. I've been playing thru the Sims3 desktop app and it bypassed EA and Origin. Now it won't work at all
- @indycutie Well, here I go again. Been playing TS3 for about a month now, and today it says I needed to update EA app. I've been playing from TS3 desktop and it goes straight to the game launcher. The EA app won't even load and now tried uninstall/reinstall Origin and it won't run to install. Any suggestions🤔
@indycutie As it turns out, some people can't go back to Origin anymore. I don't know why, or who exactly is affected, only that it's the unfortunate reality.
For the EA App not loading, do you see an error message on-screen? Do you see anything at all when you try to launch the App?

@indycutie If you have been using the EA app beta you need to unnistall - download the EA app again and install the EA app (yea - don't ask). If you were using Origin you were redirected to the EA app. The sims 3 EA app has been fixed (or so I thought) and now everything is working (well it was last night). Well it was working last night. My store items got nuked - AGAIN! At this point I really don't know what to tell you except I've uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired how many times I lost count. This has been going on for about 3 weeks now and I'm back were I started - wthl a game that doesn't work!
- @puzzlezaddict I again uninstalled EA app and downloaded and installed a fresh Origin. This time it went through, and I was able to play last nite. I don't know what is going on with the EA app. It doesn't open at all. I click on the Sims3 desktop icon and it will go thru. I just did that 15 minutes ago, and game loaded. I guess if it ask me to change over to the EA app again, until I literally to.... I'll have to keep uninstalling/reinstalling these EA and Origin app. But for now it's working again.....day by day situation. I wish they would leave Origin as is, and leave it alone.😶😕
- @puzzlezaddict I did also reinstall EA app before reinstalling Origin but I don't know what version of EA app ( beta) or whatever. I just know it won't open and doesn't work.
@indycutie We can try to troubleshoot the EA App issues if you want, but as long as you can play through Origin, I'd stick with that instead. Since the App is still getting updated, it's always possible that your particular issue will be resolved by the time you're forced to switch for good.
- @puzzlezaddict Ok, and thanks again for your knowledgeable support. I'll probably be back on here again to get my EA app operating once Or in stops. But until then, as long as Origin is recognizing & letting me play, its fine. I let my Sims couple have a "gift giving" Christmas party and it was great!!!. Like I mentioned.... day by day, and your help is tremendously appreciated😀💅
- @puzzlezaddict So I've been able to constantly play TS3, for about a month now. Everything is up & running well. For about the last few times it's been lagging and playing very slow. I've cleared the 5 cache's in the folder before playing, but it has not been running up to speed. This just started. Is there anything else I can or need to do to get this running normal again?. It's not a computer problem, it's a game problem. 🤔thanks
@indycutie The first question is whether Sims 3 is running slowly in any save, or just this one. Please start a new save for comparison and let me know how it runs.
Please also describe what you mean by lag and slow play in more detail. Some symptoms may seem similar but can have different root causes.
- @puzzlezaddict The game has started running slow in any saved games, and when loading to play. It's really slow when I go to Edit Town, or Create a Sim. The time in the game stalls, say at 2:00PM, then when it catches up it is 2:35PM, on the game time. It wasn't doing this until 2-3 game plays ago....it will play, just has lapses. I don't have any MOD'S or nothing that would make it act like this. Just need to find out the cause, my computer and internet speed are good, and I don't log in to the Internet to play.🤔. I'm also still playing through Origin.
@indycutie Please try playing while your computer is offline. You can sign into Origin and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.
If that doesn't help, I'd like to see a new dxdiag.
