Hello, first off let me say that control wise from a controller on f123 is terrible and the new throttle and steering inputs does not work! I use assists and that includes traction assist which when set to full offers next to zero traction on exits and mid corner, the car is all over the place and in more than a decade of playing codemasters f1 games it’s never been as bad as this. Im in a constant state of oversteer and under steer never getting any grip anywhere and when I apply even a slight amount of throttle the car lights up the rears and nearly puts me in the wall.Breaking assist is also set to high and I get near zero breaking into corners and not one corner has the car made without me having to steer off track to avoid barriers or other cars and when trying to steer the car responds in either instant turning or no turning and I end up in the wall and I’ve used assists throughout all codemasters f1 titles and this has never been this bad to this extent and the fact I can’t cancel my pre order annoys me as EA have conned me again with false promises and an untested and unfinished game adding features without testing and as always controller is at an outrageous disadvantage in comparison to race wheels. So thank you EA and codemasters you’ve made me waste a lot of money on your game and on top of that made me fall out of love for the game series I won’t be playing the game again unless these issues are addressed QUICKLY and since it’s impossible to give proper feedback on these issues without having 100,000+ followers the problems won’t be seen or resolved so well done you’ve made another cash grab game out of a great sport enjoy the profits

FWIW.. i had a horrible time playing F1 22 on the controller so much that I quit playing it all together. First jump in on F1 23 with controller, no assists, and it feels freaking great. Especially pushing through the fast corners and knowing you can leave the throttle pinned (Barcelona is so much fun this year with the new layout and improved handling, Qatar also). I haven't changed any of the sliders / inputs expect for turning steering radius down to 290. so far I am a fan!

@stocker14Totally. I tested no/med/full tc in beta. I found no TC the handling is more consistent than med tc. Full TC is fine. Get alittle wheel slip if to aggressive out off slow corners. But that’s better than the car bogging down like last year. Just have to open the steering before accelerating.Also the default controller settings are not a one size fits all. They wont suit everyone. Just need to adjust the calibration and FFB settings to suit your driving style. Just as it says in the deep dive video

@chanmerl Handling model is optimised to run without assists: compared to last year it’s night and day. This year is amazing. The handling model when using assist makes what’s good about the handling model irrelevant as assists especially full TC numb a lot of how the handling feels. The current issue people are having with handling whilst using TC is because TC and the new model don’t seem to be working as assist users expect in low speed corners. It should and hopefully be a simple case off adjusting TC strength

@ScarDuck14 also, low speed corners seem to be slower this year, making it feel duller with TC.

I've found the handling and responsiveness to be a massive improvement from 22. I don't play with any assists when using the pad and have found it to be very manageable. The response to a snap of over/understeer is a huge improvement.

Maybe spend a bit more time practising and reduce some of the assists, it makes it much more enjoyable!

@stocker14 Also if you havnt done so. Reduce FOV in camera settings. Cockpit view -5ish and tv pod -10 are good baseline.

I have exactly the same issues with a T150 wheel, i've spent over 4 hours at Bahrain trying to get round the first corner and no matter what assists i use or any of the different setups recommended online or copied from time trial, the car will not accelerate smoothly out of the corner unless the wheels are inline, the car fishtails off the track. As for the helpful advice for getting good, I'm 70 and started my sim racing on REVS the first of the Geoff Crammond masterpieces in 1985, unfortunately I no longer have the same hand to eye co-ordination and my fingers are not as nimble as they used to be, I've had no problems with any of the previous iterations and I'm not a serious player I only want to have fun

@OldFart70Yup I was there on OG Grand Prix and my fingers are stiff and my eyesight is Bonky.

Not a case of gitting. Gud. I have no time for elitists. But it’s a case of finding the right settings and setups that best suit you. It’s a pain especially if you don’t have the time to spend messing about with them. But they are the key to getting the most out off the game. Adjusting FOV in camera settings will help massively.

I can’t help with wheel settings as I’m a controller player.
Don’t use TT setups as for the time being no one really knows what the best setup’s are and those leading the TT leader boards are elites.

I can empathise with the OP. I’ve also been struggling with controller with abs and medium traction control.
I’ve been tinkering with the brake bias and have found putting the bias to the back has given me a better feel for the brakes. I’m also going to try dropping the brake pressure a bit to see if that helps further. I’m optimistic I can find something I like the feel of.
I’m still working on developing a setup to give more stability on traction. But have some ideas to try in the next few races of career, starting with upping the off throttle diff.

@Burbz7 I don’t think medium traction control is optimised for the new handling model. I found no TC was a lot easier compared to medium TC. As you get better feel for what the car is doing and when the rear breaks traction. With med tc you have a ton of grip. But as soon as you exceed med tc limits the back snaps and you have little chance of catching it.

Obviously it using no tc takes some getting used to. But once you get use to accelerating from 2nd-3rd gears you be flying

i put f122 back on and in runs great.
what have they done?
