The fact Madden, Fifa, NHL, Battlefield, litter all other recent online EA games have crossplay, but they couldn't add it here, the most niche sport...I am glad I have the game though EA Play+ and didn't spend my money on it. Career mode got old quick, so online is the only fun, but can't even do that.

I thought for sure when the Ryder Cup update came, that's when crossplay would come, but I was wrong...not playing this game again until crossplay is added so people can actually find matches to enjoy.

Crossplay is not the solution... all it would do is bundle together the few people left playing the game.

They need to make a game that people want to play. I think it is pretty obvious now that it isn't the arcade players that support a golf game long term, otherwise Mario Golf or Everybody's Golf would be the prominent online golf game on the market.

This game was DOA, it sold because it showed great promise based on what was advertised. It failed to meet things on almost every mark. And then arguably they continued to make things worse with each patch.

What I found worse than them actually breaking the game is the decisions/direction they have made moving forward with the game. They just seem to continue to validate they are out of touch with their community.

You keep talking about arcade mode.  mario golf,?  What?   As far as I'm concerned unicorns either mean navy hackers,  or video game cheaters.  Thats the symbolism there.   I been around the block a long time.  It stands for PWN.     That is the real problem with online gaming in general,  and why ea abandoned the pc 15 years ago.    It was NOT because of pirating like they claimed at the time,  it was because cheaters which killed off the playerbase.  Some of these players are back dominating the leaderboards and posting in the forums,  and it sickens me.

Give us community clubs and player created tournaments for those clubs,  so we can avoid playing with all the fakes!  So we can build communities.    Thats what kept the games alive in the past.    Give us an in game chat so we can socialize with people,  and stop forcing game modes on us noone wants to play like control freaks.    The fact they make us keep requeuing every 2 mins is almost like they want us to stop playing.    Every game in the modern era has cross play,  for you to come out and speak against it is weird.   You want to know what I think?   I think you know sim players are the minority, and you resent this game even existing as much as ea does and want to guide their development to its demise.  You win bud,  you pwned them.  You dominate these forums and are probalby now steering development into the ground   pwned indeed.

Ironic you talk about being out of touch with the community.  Reddit and these forums were dominated by requests and features for online play bud.   The only reason the people who care about physics and courses are the majority of this community now.   is because the game died and you are all thats left,  because thats all thats left to play now.

I have no idea what you are arguing about. This game is far closer to an arcade game than a simulation of any sort.

No one is playing because it is not worth playing. It was a novelty at best on the day the game was released. And the continuing drop in support since it's release date pretty much confirms that.

There is a reason players have gone back to playing 2K.

I don't have the time or inclination to play in a structured community thiugh I don't begrudge those that do. I play with a small group of friends that enjoy GOLF the sport. So yes a reasonable representation of the sport would be nice.

We do have audio chat as we play in the PS eco system.

It's not about winning... The Golf Club/2K was able to be inclusive with players of all levels, if you turn on all the aids in that game it is pretty much like bumper bowling.

The game isn't dying because of the lack of online play, it is dying because it isn't fun to play.

IN MY OPINION... the typical arcade player is transient... they will move on to the next shiny thing once it is released.

It is the dedicated golfing enthusiast who will play the game day and day out for years and support the product. And those players are not looking for an arcade experience.

Why do you think players have gone back or switched to 2k?    Because it is more of a simulation?   Absolutely not.... its quite the opposite.  lmao.   Its because they have actual online play and social features this game should of had since day 1.  All the things you are always all over the forum speaking against,  is why people are switching to 2k sports golf game.  Wow,  What a sad time i'm living in.

  • Okay... my opinion only. Because it seems I have lost touch with reality.

If I wanted an arcade style game I would go out and buy something like  Mario Golf or Everybody's golf game. They is no pretense... they are not trying to hide the fact that this is not a serious representation of golf.

When you advertise that that you are going to map courses to within a 1/4"... with real world conditions and where course elevation matters. Where Shotlink and Trackman data is going to be integrated into the game. The ability to select from 20 unique shot types to manage your game like the pros.

Well yes...I am expecting somewhere in this product there is a golf simulation. I'm okay with there being an arcade game in there too... but I'm expecting a simulation.

People don't stop playing because there is no turn based play or that there is no chat. People don't play because the game isn't worth playing.

You can always gather a group of peope together to play in private rooms and there are third party ways to enable chat.

I can't get people to play this game. I'm up for giving this game every chance to succeed. I still test every patch to see what has changed, to see if there enough to draw me back. Those I play with won't even do that anymore.

If you don't want arcade level players don't put in arcade mode. You should also have arcade level tournaments and challenges. I see they still don't have a toggle switch to turn off/on RNG/Dispersion. EA knows arcade players are there bread and butter. But i digress.

Now this is a good argument.

If this is the case... why did they wrap their advertising around it being a real world golfing experience?

And if they thought they had the user base to support this IP, did they walk away from the game almost a decade ago?

And why did they create a game that seems to provide neither the arcade or sim player a satisfying experience?

Everyone knows it except Elf,  and that is the type of guy they are crazily catering to.   honestly whether its arcade or sim play, tour or pro,  people just want to have some fair and competitive matchups and social interactions online like in any other sport. If I could get that I could care less which game difficulty i'm playing.

Have you ever read anything I posted?

I am probably more disparaging about this game than anyone on this forum. I do see all kinds of promise in the game, but EA seems to make poor decisions on top of poor decisions.

I'm not sure EA knows who their demographic is.

Rather than single me, which I can handle. Why not just acknowledge no one is happy with this game.

I just assume everything you do is with malicious intent.  Simply based off your avatar.  And you yourself know exactly why.    What you do is disparage EA,  while supporting and defending every horrible change they make as you are doing in this very thread.    You don't think people would find that strange?  In fact you have clearly stated time and time again you have no interest in online play so I don't know why you're all over this thread.   I've played with Sam multiple times,  never saw you playing before and you claim to play on the PC.

You keep claiming the game is too arcade and you want a hard sim.   That is not why we are all going to 2k23 bud.  Don't worry EA will give you what you want.  And you will be one of the couple dozen people left in the game just like you one of the only people left on the forums now.

Whoever said I played on PC?

I have no issue with the game having an arcade segment to it. My issue is that they advertised a sim... and that doesn't exist anywhere in this game.

I can be quoted that EA has some well developed features in the game like the career mode. Fairly well thought out, but even that had some issues like not being able to play alternate tournaments.

The only real issue is that the game is so easy, even at the most difficult settings you are leading the tournament by the Saturday round.

At least I am willing to listen and debate a position I might not agree with. You just seem to agressively ramble on about how those with a different view to yours is wrong.

I think everyone has an opinion, and they are entitled to them. Who would I be to say they are wrong?

I have a hard tiem believing anyone who claims people are playing 2k23 because its a better realistic sim.   lmao.    I can't believe I keep reading these comments by the half a dozen regular posters who are left on this forum.  Absolutely blows my mind how far from my reality that is.     I sure as hell don't find EA's game too easy and I don't even play simulation mode.     hell of alot harder than the past pga tour games that were hugely popular,  thats for damn sure.   IN fact it baffles my mind, why if they have a sim mode,  you would want them to make every other game mode more like a sim.  baffling.

But you go ahead.  Keep convcing EA everyone wants a sim and thats why everyone plays 2k23.    This is what happens when they listen to the wrong people.   YOu end up with dead forums with only you posting on it,  and a game that doesn't even have anymore players on the pc servers when months ago it was growing.   RIP.

I'm stargin to wonder if the handful of people left on here are undercover ea employees trying to convince their superiors of this nosense, so they can help put this game in the dirt so they don't have to waste their time on it anymore.  What you believe makes absolutely no sense.

Most people are playing 2k23 because it has online play and social features.   People play video games to escape reality bud,  and most people want is fair and competitive matchups.   And I have to say,  after playing 2k23  for a day,  it iis the best golf game for that I've ever seen.
