Re: Settings not saving on PC - PGA Tour

Hey,  same thing happening here. 

On PC, said that my save file was corrupted somehow (on steam), and now everytime I turn the game on I need to create my character, set my settings, and then play. Another problem is, I can't play career mode, it would tell me to choose a starting point and then just freeze after it tells me to set my AI settings and season settings.

My windows account is indeed adminstrator. 
Oh additionally, I did a clean reset of my computer today, so it may been that all my save files got deleted.

Yes this is still happening.

It has been two weeks and no response.

There are alot of people not beeing able to save the settings at all.

In my case (and several others) it is not possible to play the career mode at all which is 90% of the game.

When trying to launch career mode it is possible to select one of three career modes but then when trying to start nothing happens.

If one goes back to the main menu and then select career again, I will be promted with the settings for the selected career mode.

The three options in this screen is

B = Back (Goes back to main menu)

A = Apply (Game freezes, no crash, but freezes, I can still hear the in game sound, but nothing happens and now it is not possible to do anything else than ALT+F4)

U = Load default settings (Game freezes, no crash, but freezes, I can still hear the in game sound, but nothing happens and now it is not possible to do anything else than ALT+F4)

So two weeks and two "Big" patches, and still not possible to play the game as intended.

I would like to underline that all other game modes are working, and I have never experienced a crash or disconnect from EA servers.

I have a computer that meets all the recommended requirements.

I am on PC and pay for EA PLAY PRO subscription.

I have tried everything to get around this problem and it is just not possible.

If I would guess, I would think this is somehow related to the previously installed PGA TOUR TRIAL.

Was it possible to play career in the trial?

I have now also uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times with the same results.

When doing this after todays update/patch I actually received a somewhat strange pop-up window telling me that;

EA SPORTS PGA TOUR (Trial)

Activate EA SPORTS PGA TOUR by logging in to your EA account

We could not activate EA SPORTS PGA TOUR (Trial) on this computer with the EA account you have selected.

Please activate the games product code on Origin.com

If you already completed this step you should log in to the same EA account that you used when purchasing the game.

I would like to ad that it is not possible to log in using my credentials in this pop-up window despite they are the correct ones.

Also, I installed the game while beeing logged in to the latest version of the EA APP where I have the EA PLAY PRO subscription, so why should I have to log in again?

Hey Everyone  we had a new patch come out today, I wanted to check if this is still happening.

No the new patch has not fixed the issue.

No, the new patch doesn't help.

The game makes me go to pick the tour i want on career mode then halfway loads then soft freezes. When i back out to main menu and hit career mode again it takes me to the settings on that mode. Then when i go to apply the settings it hard freezes and i have to hard reset my game on PC

Having exactly the same issues here, game never saves settings, can’t play career. Game does nothing when choosing amateur season> I go back to the menu and press career again> shows me the AI difficulty settings> I press “apply changes” and the game freezes. Tried repairing the game = did not work. Tried updating drivers = did not work. Tried turning HDR off = did not work

Did you find a fix ?

Updating this thread, with our latest patch: EA SPORTS™ PGA TOUR™ Patch Notes 3.0

I wanted to check if this continued for anyone?

@EA_Illium Hi yes this bug is still happening ): 

Career mode is still unplayable, and settings still continue to reset themselves.

This is on PC platform.

So 3.0 didn't change the problem with my settings resetting. It keeps going back to 30fps with HDR every time I play the game, and the audios always reset. Does this have anything to do with Steam - EA app settings?
