No option to assign controllers to local multiplayer on ps5

My workaround for this and a multitude of other issues is to continue playing TW14 on the PS3, the last truly legit PGA Tour game brought to us by EA.  It's a crying shame EA didn't set the bar for this game with TW14, then raising the bar from there.  All the fancy graphics in the world don't make up for all the ridiculous nonsense this game has to offer.

Exact same problem... My mate plays with the opposite stick than me and refuses to play anymore. I can't play with right stick and he cant play with left stick so the game is essentially rendered unplayable at versus for us locally... Its a massive oversight on EA part. 

I just purchased this game yesterday on PS5 and am experiencing the same issues.

1. All controllers have control of all human golfers.  Each user with their own gamepad should be assignable to each playable golfer.  I found myself accidentally playing someone else's turn multiple times. 

2. Sometimes, one controller has control and the rightful golfer's controller is temporarily disabled.  Very buggy.

3. I created 3 different custom golfers under my account for each of my family members to play against with.  I found that there is no option to select more than one custom golfer for a co-op round.  This is very disappointing as this is one of the main reasons I even play video golf.
