Yes, 100% confirmed.

Every time there is an update to be downloaded by the EA app, i have to go through the described procedure in order for the EA app to recognize there was an update and then prompt me to it.

The hang up on the welcome screen was a first though.

EDIT: It allows me to play before the update is downloaded, and the new content is "teased" in the game as well, along with accompanying Quests shown up.

Only the content itself isn't there, that comes with the update triggered as described.



Also, maybe off topic but might as well be related:

After reading the other thread i'm thinking it may be related to the thing when people pay for the tourney and then got stuck - possibly the new course isn't on their hard drives yet as they didn't download the update on their machines, but server side the infrastructure is already provided. Just a thought.

Would it be possible once we get another update to try the following before launching the game and going through the above:

• Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
• Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates  
• Connection and Advance Connection Guides 
• EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery) 
• Repair/Verify your game based on which client you are launching from
• EGS - Repair (Library > Tile dots > Manage > Verify)

If it does not pick up the update in the EGS and EA App, the try to launch your device in a Clean Boot then launch both clients to see if it starts the download first.

I can run sfc one of these days, shouldn't be a problem. If there's anything it finds i shall let you know.


With regards to auto-updates, they are enabled in the EA app. But so was auto-start apparently and that never happened, otherwise i would've switched it off earlier.

I'm not sure if there is an option to enable/disable auto-updates in the EGS, i think they're just enabled by default (had another game on there before it was migrated to another platform, and that always updated itself on Epic).

However i did notice that in my Epic library, EA Sports PGA Tour is listed as "install" (not installed / play / launch) - not sure if that has to be this way since it's launched via EA app anyways (and listed as installed / launch / play here).
