TLDR in a different thread this was discussed in depth. The EA mods said that while the current ranking system is working as intended, they acknowledged it was not an ideal system and were working on making changes for F1 24.
So that is a yes they are not going to bother fixing this or change the elite trophy, to something that is manageable by all and not sheer luck due to playerbase? Like I said before im not going to get furute installments of these games, codemasters really * the bed since merging with EA and its nonsense like this, why have the group leaderboards in ranked be shared by everyone when races are limited, gives people in more populated regions a better chance. I dont mind a nice challenge in a game, but when it becomes something beyond what the game will and will not let me do its a joke. I'll either have to leave the game incomplete which I dont like as its not my fault or pay a modder to unlock it. Which just shows the * system Codemasters has implmented.
@surgicalassault Basically yes, I'm sorry I don't have a solution for you, but they are not going to completely overhaul the ranked system on a game that most people won't be playing in less than two months when the new game comes out. Also introducing a new ranking system mid-year would mean that everyone's rank would have to be reset which would just upset more people.
I certainly understand your aggravation and don't blame you for not wanting to buy the next game, though as I said the mods have told me they are planning on reworking the ranking system. My advice would be to take a wait and see approach, and if there have been satisfactory improvements, you can probably pick f1 24 up on sale 2 or 3 months after release.
ITs not merely an overhaul I am asking for I just dont get why we would be grouped with other people across the world yet can only race with people region based. That was a major flaw and super frustrating. Another ideal fix past this games yearly cycle would be change the trophy requirements for something else, I dont know why it wasnt something based around F1 world in general I enjoyed playing that mode and leveling up my car. And they would have to option to alter the trophy after ranked ceases, rockstar did it recently when rockstar editor was being discontinued, and prior to that Bungie did it with Destiny 2 when they sunset the forsaken expansion.
At the end of the day I just really dont understand when they * something up and be like "We wil do better with the next release" Like the right thing to do would be fix the errors so requirements can be accessible to everyone. Refusing just puts little faith in future releases. I just needed to vent im over bigger companies not caring about games like they used to.
I mean it's been a year and they've made 1 adjustment to ranked lobbies. I'm guessing that means no, as usual ranked lobbies are left out. I'm sticking with my theory, Ranked Lobbies are designed and run by interns. Dame as F1 world.
Imagine my surprise on April 1st when I received the following Codemasters emails congratulating me for achieving "Gold II" Rank (from Silver II)
Then I discover I lost both my Gold II Rank and Tier 50 level. Yet other players retained their Rank/Tier statuses.
Yet, here is their ambiguous description of their Ranking System:
The waiting game is a money waster with these companies. We want a change now. Like right now type *. Can’t let ea keep getting away with releasing the same games with updated teams, a change that could happen in an update, stuff that can be added in 2 weeks. And I’m sitting this while sitting at the starting line in f1 24 because the game bugged out and never started. You’re telling me they’ll * fix it soon, when more people play it. They got the * funds to fix this. But no we wait till f1 25 for them to fix me not being able to put on intermediates before the race when it’s * POURING right…. Mods my * they’re just there doing damage control while ea increases the prices when I’m not even on a ps5 and paying $70 for a * game that’s been the * same but parts of it get removed every year because they’re so * bad we gotta be limited so there’s all 4000 of us playing the game to not feel alone even though it takes * decades to get a full 20 person or even 15 person race
