Re: VR Mode WRC

Hey there,

As we said in our Season 3 Update Details:

We are currently working on adding VR support to EA SPORTS™ WRC for PC only. We’ll reveal details once it is ready for release.

We don't have more information regarding this. I know it is frustrating to wait, but as soon as we have something more we'll let you know.

    Thank you for your response.

But this is exactly the issue why everyone is quiting the game, i saw this information about "we working on it" but we have this information since almost 6 MONTH.

It starts to getting frustrating you selling this game with the marketing phrase "vr mode after release" for me it´s cheating because you give the expactation of something we maybe never get if this game looses more players.

This is the reason i will never trust EA enymore, had the same with Battlefield and we get the same again, Marketing phrases to get the money but honesty is missing.

Oh and i´m pretty sure yall having more informations but EA preffered lying to customers.

No one would be angry if they would say we need more time even if it would take 6 more month.

OK nevermind im done with EA  me and my friends decided never spend any money again on EA games.

There is now a reset view button in the pause menu in game for vr when using the uevr mod. Codies must have coded it in during the latest patch. Also shadows and pp has been fixed to run in vr.

Yes i noticed it too, VR is looking much better now.  Only downside for me is :  The menu has disappeared in VR, but it's still displayed on the monitor

    Just for reference.....

VR support for Dirt Rally 1 came out over a year after release.

VR support for Dirt Rally 2 came out approx 1 year after release.

If VR support comes by the end of April, EA WRC would have recieved VR support after only 5 months.

We all wanted VR support straight away but we all bought the game knowing it was coming after it's release. I personally hadn't expected it quite so soon if I'm being honest, what with the game being in a completely different engine.

Anyways, with a bit of luck it will be out within the next 2 weeks (preferably sooner) & I'm very eager to try it out. Hats off to Codies for not forgeting about us VR enthusiasts.

VR for Dirt Rally arrived 2 months after full release (Dec 2015-Feb 2016) and 9 months after Dirt Rally's surprise release in Early Access in April 2015.

Dirt Rally 2.0 got VR 6 months after release (Feb 2019-Aug 2019).

In both cases there was no mention of VR even coming later when first released.

But I take the point.  A wait of 5 to 6 months for VR in EA WRC is not too bad.  As with Dirt Rally 2.0, I've delayed my purchase until VR arrives, but I'm now looking forward to it.

  • I stand corrected. As an old man I hope you will accept my slight senior moment for what it is.

I remember waiting for each release back then but in the VR world at the time, we were all used to waiting months if not years for our hardware, let alone software.

Fingers crossed, we are but days a way.

However, there is a big difference. Dirt Rally came onto the market unexpectedly as early access and nothing about VR was announced, but was added as an additional feature.

With EA WRC 23, VR was announced from the beginning and not as a goal but as a feature. The fact that this would only come months later was successfully concealed by EA in its marketing. Just to grab as much money from the enthusiasts as possible without delivering VR in time.

So now it's nearly end of April and the date is not announced so we will see. ATM it's scam from EA.

Yes, EA Sports WRC was advertised that PC VR would be supported but It was also known that VR support wasn't coming until after launch.

    And No......

VR support has had a trailer all of it's own, with April the 30th being it's release date.

    You can watch it here................

  • April the 30th...

Oh thank you, really thank you for the VR support, it makes me super happy.
Before the launch I said that I would only buy the game when VR was supported, I bought it from the launch anyway hoping not to regret it (if VR support takes too long), but this delay of a few months is, in my opinion, correct and corresponds to what I expected.
Now we just have to hope that it isn't too buggy, that it doesn't crash, and that the optimization is correct at the start, so still a lot of questions...

So VR Beta arrived and well... expected something like that.

Menus are fine but ingame its a mess.
Tried to do 3-4 runs but it looks like ive had an aquarium in front of my eyes.... geezes christ.
I was able to drive around 20-30 seconds and when wanted to go to main menu so it crashed without any info.

    i7-13700k
    Corsair Dominator 64GB DDR5 5200MHz
    Palit RTX4090 GameRock 24GB
    Corsair HX1000i
    Samsung 980 Pro SSD M.2
    VR HP Reverb G2

So i leave it for now and wait another 2-5 months so maybe something will be fixed.....
I know...its beta...i know Reverb G2 is not even listed as supported... one of best actuel VR headsets not listed but Oculus CV1 -_-
No problem, tried it and thats all.

    Hi,

I had the same feeling when I first launched the game in VR, but all the graphics settings had been reset to zero, so it was set to the lowest resolution available in the game.

Once I changed the graphics settings, it is very correct for a beta, it's at least as beautiful as DR 2.0 in VR.
    I'm using a Quest 3 + 7950 X3D + RTX 4090.

I only did a few run to test but I was pleasantly surprised.
